Thank you so much for the great answer. I have decided not to be lazy and do the pavers. Mostly because I pictured the legs rocking back and forth from kids jumping and digging into wet soil. No matter how hard my clay is they won't with stand that.

Another thought. All of the pool hardware is plastic except for the walls. Are the side supports really going add extra weight on the pavers or is the weight mostly going to be on the edge of the wall that goes around the pool?

What does heaving mean in this case?

Thanks my pavers are 12x12. Looks like these grow to 14". That would be too high to step over from paver to paver. Are yours that high?
