A question...does the mesh of the grids wear out, ie will worn mesh allow DE to pass thru? My grids are about 7 yrs old, but physically they look fine.

I have an old Letro (Pentair) pool cleaner that I have replaced with a Polaris 280. The Letro had a great bag that has a snap clip type opening to remove debris. Is there any way of adapting that type of bag to the P280?

I also noticed there are some additional steps to remove the debris. Seems like just dumping the debris or removing a sock is easier & quicker. Just my $.02

Thanks, that's what I'm using now. What I would really like is a hair net compatible, weighted basket that has a folding handle(s), that also doesn't get in the way of the hair net.

Well, that's how I lost the handle (straight stainless rod) on my basket...had to remove it to put a skimmer sock in it. Somehow I misplaced it.

Lost the handle on my pentair basket so I want to replace it since it now floats up. Looks like there are hundreds available, but several caught my eye on Amazon, the Skimmer Doctor, and a mesh basket (not the hair net). Do you have a favorite?

Update: tried it again and the motor just hums, will not start. :(

So, it looks like a new motor is in order. :( I there a recommendation as to a replacement unit? How much knowledge is required to replace it? Thanks!
