Looking to get rid of my pool company. Intimidated about closing.

I’ve had a 20x40 inground pool for the last 13 years and have always closed it myself. I blow out the lines with a shop vac. Follow the article that you posted. It’s not a big deal at all.

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I was just coming here to post that. Bought 80 gallons of it yesterday!

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

I got mine on Amazon -- I think $799. I maybe could have got a better deal, but I'm happy nonetheless.

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

I have a 20x40 IG with an 8 foot deep end. The 4WD does a fine job of making it down to the depths of the deep end and traveling up to the waterline. It does a good job overall in cleaning the pool -- I'm still very happy with it.

Chlorine not showing up and pool cloudy! Please help!

Yes - Bring it up to 16 as soon as possible. Are you checking the FC level every hour, and bringing it back to 16 any time it drops below? When it drops less than 16, the algae are multiplying and winning the war.

    Removing debris at opening

I'd get the chlorine in the water and then start brushing. Brush often and check your FC level every hour to start with, adding chlorine when necessary to bring it back to shock level.

    Trying to get started

The ph test won't be correct because of the high FC levels, so don't worry about that for now. You'll need to know your CYA level in order to shock properly. You could take some water to the pool store for testing. Take the results with a grain of salt, and don't buy anything other than...

Chlorine not showing up and pool cloudy! Please help!

Shocking the pool means keeping the FC at shock value (16) until the water is clear and you pass the overight chlorine loss test. You should be testing every hour initially until the FC begins to hold, then you can move to every few hours.

    Deck Build revels a problem

It's very possible. Little holes canleak a lot of water, especially if theyare towards the bottom of the pool and the weight of the water is forcing the water out. See if you can patch the hole with a piece of old liner or a kit from the pool store.

    concentrated chlorine... Help!

The easiest thing to do is to go to http://www.poolcalculator.com. Enter the size of your pool in gallons, your current FC level (0), your target FC level (15) and the percentage strength of your bleach (sounds like 8.25). The website will show the amount of bleach you need to add.

    auto chlorinator vrs floatie

Hi Bulsworth, all you have to do is to pour the liquid chlorine into the pool while standing above the return, while the pool pump is running.

Chlorine Demand that just won't go away...

Swimming today would not be safe. The ammonia in your pool is eating up all the chlorine very quickly. There's no chlorine available to attack any bacteria in the water that could make the kiddos sick.

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

I have the AWD Breeze and it can climb my walls to the waterline, so I'm not sure what they mean by 60%.

Plumbers camera stuck in skimmer line, need to dig

I had similar problems with my pool - losing a ton of water every day to a broken line. I knew it was in the return line, so after plugging the returns and hooking up a garden hose to the line and pressurizing the line with the water, I was able to hear where the leak was (where the water was...
