Will at least make it look a bit nicer, darker, not-so-old? I mean is there even such a thing as sealing coping? otherwise I'll just leave it alone.

It's really showing its age now so I thought maybe depending on the seal it will give it a facelift... and it's eroding faster than a few years ago, lately I noticed that most of the dirt inside the pool is sand or tiny fragments from the texture of the coping.

All I know about it it's that it is some sort of stone, I'm not the original owner of the house so I really have no idea what kind of coping it is.

Yep It seems I've been slowly destroying the cell. I'll try to reassemble one more time moving it a little, but after spending so many hours last weekend doing it I've no hope left lol.

Now that you mention I think I'm just cleaning the cell like an idiot every few months even if there's no scale just because I read somewhere it was recommended so I made it part of my pool maintenance schedule.

Ok guys I got the hose kit and installed it. It wasn't too bad of a project but I realized my primer/cement game is really bad. I was going to tackle that second pipe but I'm not sure the end that goes to the pump is threaded... it looks like it's completely glued to the pump so I'm thinking...

Yep lots of stress at that point. As soon as I cut and tried to unscrew the joint it came down clean as if it was cut... Removing that it's going to be fun without messing up the threads.

@Dirk Yeah it's not bolted down so you're probably right the vibration caused this...

Ok I think I'm with you @Lake Placid but just to be 100% clear cut at the red line or at the blue? I'm not professional (obviously lol) so behind the 90 to me is the red line...
