    New Build in Central CA

I'm in Visalia as well- I suspect right around the corner if you're in the neighborhood I think you're in. Our PB used Finest Finish plaster as well (probably the same subcontractor) I really liked the Tahoe Isle color as well but we ended up going with Caribbean Blue. You're more than welcome...

    Cartridge vs DE Filter

I have an oversized cartridge filter (520 sq. ft. filter in 23k gal pool) and love it! I clean it just once a year. It takes maybe 90 minutes to pop the top off, remove the four cartridges, hose them off with the Aquacomb attached to the hose, and reinstall. I also use hair nets in the skimmer...

    Blank canvas in Laughlin, NV.

yep, we built our pool in 2015 but I still have the Zillow app on my phone with search criteria for expensive houses with pools so I can look at pictures! And I may have peeked over a fence or two in our neighborhood...

    What's your current pool temp?

87 degrees here just south of Fresno, with no solar panels or heater. 88 yesterday! I'm amazed at the difference the solar cover (bubble blanket) makes. This time last year were at 74-75 degrees.

    Pool Math........The App

Once the PoolMath app is installed (on iOS), can we go ahead and delete the TestFlight app? When I went to delete TestFlight I got a message saying "Deleting this app will also delete its data." I don't want to screw anything up.

    Umbrella wobbles in deck sleeve.

What about adding some wraps of electrical tape or duct tape to the umbrella post to make it wider?

SWG selection and DIY install questions

I'll head back out and look to see if I have the IntelliChlor power supply. Re Stenner, I'm trying to get away from buying and storing chlorine. I'm probably going to spend $400+ in bleach this year alone so I'm hoping the SWG will save money as well as time. Also, it's so hot here in the summer...

SWG selection and DIY install questions

Thanks Jim! xyz: that makes sense. but what about the flow sensor? that doesn't come with just the replacement cell does it? I wonder if I can buy that component separately somewhere. Where are you seeing the IC 60 for $250 less than the RJ 30? I was looking at Discount Salt Pools with their...

SWG selection and DIY install questions

We've only had our pool a year but I'm ready for some relief from lugging liquid chlorine 7 days a week, year-round. After researching SWGs and reading as much as I can, I still have some questions and would love some input on the following: 1. My equipment pad is currently all Pentair. I know...

    Outdoor ceiling fans

We needed two fans for our covered patio (the patio ceiling is that white aluminum with wood grain). I was concerned about droopy blades that others have commented on. And so many of the fans I looked at were way too pricey. I eventually found these fans...

Preferred source of Calcium chloride or calcium chloride dihydrate

I bought the same stuff as Marlahoutex from Amazon on July 24 and it was only $23.54 for the 50 lb bag. No idea why Amazon literally doubled the price but you might want to wait a bit to see if it drops. It is pure calcium chloride and it worked great to raise my CH level (dissolved in 5-gal...

brand new pool owner, first time test results. Is this right?

thanks for the responses! Pooldv, I hadn't actually calculated it the way you did. The apples to apples comparison is helpful. I've never bought pucks either, I'm sticking with TFPC for now, but I want to understand the "why" rather than just blindly following along. From what I've read on this...

brand new pool owner, first time test results. Is this right?

So I'm a few months in now and things have been going smoothly thanks in large part to you folk, but I think I need some reassurance as a first-time pool owner and TFP'er. I'm using a lot more bleach than I thought I would at this point- over 1 ppm per day already, and it's barely March! My...

    Test kit battle!

since we're nerding out here, I DID check the math, and it's 3900 MINUTES saved, not hours. Which comes out to a bit over 65 hours saved. =)
