I would definitely replace. You can try an epoxy but it might fail again and you time/aggravation spent woukdnt be worth it. Maybe you can just replace the actual part that broke but again it might be time to replace the whole unit. How old is it?

And ive heard this alot is one of my reasons to try out the sand filter. On the other hand sometimes when i get frustrated with something i start throwing money at it (not rich btw) replacing this and that. In the end i usually end up happy.

Just got the pump last week. Tappatalk which is the app the TFP allows doesnt given the option to correct. Ill have to find a desktop computer somewhere to do so

Thanks guys... all makes sense. I like the cartridge but i hate the algae and constant cleaning. Oh and i recently discovered i have to clean my cartridge filter with a solution. In the middle of the pleats is a build up of lotion or all the ph, stabilizer, etc i dump right into the skimmer...

There are many different types of sand that are millions of years old. Not sure if someone was misled at a pool store but he told me that theres a different sand that filters down to almost a cartridge.

True. I had a hard time with the equipment and chemistry this year. Chemistry is 100%... life and humans arent. And so constant cleaning out the cartridge instead of backwashing is what im looking at. Plus ive seen some others with sand filters and they were just as clear as mine on a good day...

Thanks man. I ordered the 1 hp 2 speed hayward pump. Im really liking it. Super quiet too. And just my luck out of no where the filter body o ring expended and now need a new one :( I tired boiling it to shrink it back but no luck. Thanks again for your help.
