    Equipment Upgrades, recommended?

@Randrx2 good catch its more like $0.131 so 2.4 * 0.131 * 8 = $2.52 per day so it brings forward break even. Big picture I'll likely just delay and refresh the whole setup at some point given the other feedback.

Helpful - thank you. How are your heating costs on a monthly basis?

Heater Face Off - RayPak 206A - Vs StraRite Max-E-Therm

Considering adding a pool heater (natural gas). I have two pool company quotes, both were helpful and prices are fairly comparable but looking for opinions on the heaters themselves. RayPak 206A - Vs StraRite Max-E-Therm (Both the same size, 200,000BTU). Thoughts welcome!

    Equipment Upgrades, recommended?

@Randrx2 Single speed pump, 6.526 cents per kWh. Runs 24/7 for a few days at opening then probably 8-10hours a day which maybe could be cut down but I haven't tried. Everything worked last year so I wasn't thinking of an overhaul... however adding a heater - I'm limited to 200,000BTU due to...

    Equipment Upgrades, recommended?

Hello all, I gained a pool when I bought the house and have mostly been DIY for the last 2 years. Pool temp after opening is 64degrees and we have little kids who are desperate to swim but its just too cold for an enjoyable experience. I've been contacting some pool companies for heater...

That helps, thank you. Filter size is 48sqf - 5 scoops seems in line with guides so I think we're set. ty.

    DE Measurement Conversion

Hey all, I have an old Sylvan DE filter(approx 30 years old) but it seems to work just fine after I replaced the filter grids last year. One thing I noticed is the DE instructions reference 10 coffee cups which I think is less than a 1lb. I just picked up a 1lb de scoop so want to make sure...

SLAM Success Story... just 1 more question

Will be sure to embed next time! @texas_splash if I leave a 3" cholorine puck on the mark for 6-10 hours it will be gone. But... there's probably a few hundred marks. Will get test results this week sometime.

SLAM Success Story... just 1 more question

I've successfully cleaned a green swamp into crystal clear water (bought the house, pool wasn't closed properly). Previous owner stopped by and told us this is the clearest he has seen the water in many many years so I'm winning this battle. My final conundrum.... the water is perfectly clear...
