Water starting to look a little cloudyToday

FC 5.5 CC .5 PH 7.6 CH 700 TA 90 CYA ??? After finally getting our pool on track at the end of last season, it took 1/4 gallon of chlorine to keep the correct levels throughout the winter. Starting around the end of March I had to increase the daily chlorine to 1/2 gallon per day to keep it at...

12 hours later 8:30 pm FC 6, down 2 again, CC 0 First time for zero CC reading. Putting In another quart to bump it back up to 8. Had a little more rain today, not much though and still cool. We've been able to turn off the A/C yesterday and today and open windows. Still fighting that cold...

8:30 am FC 6 down 2 since 12:45 pm yesterday. Bumping it back up to 8. And we had a lot of rain between those two readings! It feels good only using around a quart of chlorine each day, but sad that it's gotten colder, 69 degrees today, and the water is too cold to enjoy the pool.

We didn't get to test the pool until 2pm today, 18 hours since last test. I'm happy to report FC 6.5 down only 2. We're bumping it back to 8.5. Feels good to be using only one quart of chlorine a day. I know it's only been 2 days, but I'm hopeful that this will continue to be our norm. I'm...

So yesterday turned out to be a good day. It started out bad, losing 4 overnight, but that included a few hours of bright sunlight since we slept in longer and didn't test until 8:30 am. After that we tested at 12:45 pm FC 18.5 (with a loss of 1.7), bumped it up to 20.5, tested again at 6:30...

Gene - Yes, it is an estimate from pool math on what the level will be when we add "x" amount. Throughout this process we've only done a 30 minute retest after an add a handful of times, when told to do it. I'm pretty sure every time we retested, our level was exactly where pool math said it...

We just looked at the video. Rusty gets the sample in exactly the same way. When adding and counting the drops Rusty uses more of a swirling motion instead of shaking back and forth. He also puts in a drop swirls, stops swirling, adds another drop, swirls, etc. He doesn't usually swirl...

The odd number of 1.7 came up because he added an odd amount of chlorine (like over or under an ounce or two of a quart) which using pool math brought the level up to an odd amount. I hope that makes sense to you. We have always used a sample of 10ml. I started writing down our test results...
