    Tristar 900 VS and Prologic

The Hayward tech set them as 2070, 2415, 2760, and 3105 (from filter 1 to 4 respectively). However, I temporarily have filter 1 set to 2415 in order to run the heater. (There's no option to bump up to the next filter speed like the used to be). I just want to heat the pool to the temp set on the...

I don't have a heater name option or disable allow low speed option. Heater 1 is enabled, heater 1 cooldown is disabled and heater 2 extend is enabled.

    Tristar 900 VS and Prologic

Had the Hayward tech guy out this week. Turns out, it was just a bad connection for the most part. The pump still isn't ramping up when I turn the heater up, I have to turn the heater up then turn filter speed 1 up. Not really ideal long term as the filter won't turn down once the desired heat...

So did you get the second one replaced? My replacement just went and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the effort in dealing with Hayward again.

Yeah, I've been through diagnostics there's no mention of comm bus. Spent an hour on the phone with the Hayward tech. He is says everything is hooked up correctly so he's baffled too. He's coming out this week.

    Tristar 900 VS and Prologic

I wired the pump directly from the breaker with and without the green comm wire attached. Still got the error. Next, I connected both the interface and data cable to the Rs485. Still nothing. Then I added the green wire of the data cable back to the system and the pump now fires up again and...

    Tristar 900 VS and Prologic

Yeah, I have to hit the filter button normally ( when there's no data connection and I'm just using the interface on the pump. With the data cable connected, the filter button just throws the VSP comm error.

The power comes through the control panel first and I use the filter button to turn the pump on. I'll try running it straight from the breaker to the pump tomorrow. Thanks again for all your help.

Pics attached. I haven't changed any settings in the prologic. I'll check, although the previous pump was an ecostar, which I thought was variable speed as well.
