Pebble Tec - too much plaster in the corners?

Hey! The streaks mostly evened out (though we have a weird-ish streak in one part of our pool. No big deal though). The extra plaster in the corners is still there, but we don’t even notice. I suspect you’ll be happy with yours when it’s all said and done. 😁

    Help troubleshooting bubbles/gurgling pipes

So, recently, we’ve started noticing gurgling in our rooftop solar return line. I’ve googled a bit and think I have the problem narrowed down, but I was hoping for a second opinion. The gurgling is definitely in the solar return line (it shakes, even). There’s some air in the pump basket, but...

Tried searching to no avail. Any thoughts on the val-pak "Algae Gun"?

Pfft. There's so much aggregate! I've got plenty to spare, right? :)

Tried searching to no avail. Any thoughts on the val-pak "Algae Gun"?

I was mostly just thinking it could give a good head-start, since it doesn't seem like brushing does anything to the black algae between my aggregate. Hopefully it's doing enough that the chlorine can get in, though. *shrug*

Tried searching to no avail. Any thoughts on the val-pak "Algae Gun"?

https://val-pakproducts.com/product/v50-005-algae-gun-water-pressure-cleaning-tool/ Looks like it's just a pressurized nozzle that attaches to your hose and pole. I have trouble imagining it would generate much pressure out of a garden hose. Anyone tried it? Along those same lines, though, any...

Saddle tee okay for adding temperature probes to my solar lines?

Oh, I’m not putting the sensor on the roof. Just included that to give some idea of the pressure involved.

Saddle tee okay for adding temperature probes to my solar lines?

Hmmm. The couplers seem like a good idea too. For now, I went ahead and ordered a few threaded probes (found them for $8 each. Still have to wait a month though). I figure if I try threading a hole in the pipe wall and it doesn’t work out, I can always install a tee there. ? Thanks for the...

Saddle tee okay for adding temperature probes to my solar lines?

Yeah, I've seen that as an option, too, but is there any real benefit to that over just a threaded probe? Interesting to hear that you can thread directly into the wall of a pipe or fitting, though. That might make using a threaded sensor worth it.

Saddle tee okay for adding temperature probes to my solar lines?

This is the sensor: There are screw-in versions, but they're quite a bit more expensive ($15ish vs like, $3). Plus, if I want to get one for only $15, it'll take like, a month to ship (thanks, Aliexpress!). Otherwise, it's $20-30, and at that point, I might as well just buy an aftermarket...

Saddle tee okay for adding temperature probes to my solar lines?

So, I’m hoping to add some WiFi temperature monitoring with D18B20 temperature probes, but I need a way to get them into my pipes. I could add tees to my lines (then JB weld the sensors into screw caps in the tees), but that will be a pretty major pain. Saddle tees look promising, but I’m...

    Overflow a problem?

Our pool was remodeled in May 2015. I am almost positive that they didn't put an overflow in the auto-fill, as there isn't a drain pipe nearby for them to have plumbed it to, unfortunately. That said, I'll take a look. Thanks for the input everyone.

    Roger that. Thanks!

    Overflow a problem?

So, in Northern California, we've had quite a bit of rain this winter. My pool (IG, gunite, PebbleTec) has been sitting right at the top of the tile line, water-level-wise, but I haven't seen it draining off or overflowing excess water anywhere. I'm fairly certain we don't have any kind of...

Well, I didn't listen (kind of), and now I'm regretting it. Stains from Bio-Dex 300?

Roger that. We did get our solar in, so we should be swimming sooner rather than later (once we get the leaky vacuum breaker replaced Monday). Thanks! :)
