2" SAND FLOOR OR 2" SAND FLOOR W/ HAPPY BOTTOM PROS VS CONS

I have more questions for current pool owners. When the weather dries up and temp. warms also, I will be continuning on my project. I am considering a 2" +/- sand floor with the happy bottom over the top. Is that over kill, or will it provide a better floor and possibly extend the life of the...

24 ft AGP remove old and in with the new.

Your new pool looks GREAT! Cant' wait to see the deck tie into the pool. I am curiuos though after looking at your pictures, did you fill the soil back in around your pool with the same soil that was taken out during construction, or did you use the left over sand material to level off from the...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BACKFILL

As Tim23 mentioned in his post, as far as doing the poly around the perimeter (under the sand and rails). Does the sand tamp down on the poly firm enough. I'm thinking that the sand would not pack down well.

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BACKFILL

That sounds like a good idea. I know I have heard some people say that you shouldn't back-fill with dirt, but I really don't like the idea of have decrotive rock 6" deep. It also saves me the expense of buying the 1"X6" green treat.

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BACKFILL

I am looking for some tips regarding the "BACK-FILL" area around the perimeter of the pool. My pool site required me to remove approx 6" of soil around the back side of the pool and wrapping around to 0" on the front side. After the pool is set up, I will be faced with the decision of what to...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BOTTOM COVE

Just want to thank everyone for all the info. It is all very helpful, especially from pool4me. Unfortunately, up here in MN, I just need the weather to start to cooperate so I can finish the project. I will need to post my next question regarding the "BACKFILL" around the pool site.

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BOTTOM COVE

NWMNMom If you look at the backyardcitypools site link that i posted above, you can click on the pictures to enlarge them and you will see that the cove they are using does have a notch out of the back. They layered the sand to the top of the bottom track, then installed the cove, with no...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BOTTOM COVE

I am thinking that this link just might have solved my questions. It looks like they layer their sand to the top of the bottom track and then place the cove on the sand (not using the notch on the foam cove). Any other comments? http://www.backyardcitypools.com/vinyl- ... -NL102.htm

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BOTTOM COVE

I didn't know that, however, all the directions that i have read on-line, say that i needed the patio blocks under the up-rights. I am really just trying to understand the flooring height though. Does the 2" sand cover the bottom track and then the foam cove, or do i basically raise the pool...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BOTTOM COVE

Mod Squad I am wondering if you noticed the post i had early on this topic. Right now my site is set up with the patio blocks counter-sunk and level to the existing ground. Now, would i put up the pool, dump a 2" layer of sand on the inside, and then the foam cove on-top of the sand bed? The...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BOTTOM COVE

Thanks again for the info. I do want to ask you 1 more question. My pool site is level and prepared with 8"x16"x1 5/8" patio blocks counter sunk into the ground. Do you suggest then to (1)set up the bottom track, (2)install the wall,(3)install the bottom cove,(4) lay down a 2" sand bed floor...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BOTTOM COVE

Thanks for the quick advice. That would bring up my next question. Does that now mean that I would have 2" of sand coming up the face of the cove? And the reason I posted these questions are, the video's that I have watched, and directions that I have read, say that the cove needs to come up...
