Hi Pat.. I got a new r-0013 reagent ... The last one i purchased from tfp last Aug.. Anyway my CYA went from 80-90 to 50-60 with the new reagent...??? The filter is only 3 years old and im positive its not dirty.. My last sand filter was 20 years old when i replaced it and never deep cleaned...

Update.... Got my CYA down to 50-60... Passed OCLT... But still losing 5-6 ppm FC per day... Kind of at a loss what to do now???

Yeah i saw that... The top of my filter is real hard to take off... So i think im gonna pass on that.... I dont need any more expense... Bleach has already cost me a bundle..

What i mean is shouldn't it be holding more FC with each dose? It seems to just hover between 22-25.. Not gaining any ground...Im adding 31But the next time i test the Fc wont rise any higher than 22-25.. Think you misunderstood me.Last year the FC held after 3 days of slamming..with the same...

Well.. I'm getting consistant 40's on the CYA dilute.. So I'll keep the FC at 31 for as long as it takes... Topping off more frequently during the day... Thx PAT! Check back later... Yes.. I did 100% and dilute... I do have trouble with it though.. I'll do it again today.. Will it be accurate with the FC so high? I guess if it doesnt get better my CYA is over100....

What if my CYA is higher than i think it is??? I assume it would take longer or not work at all???? Should i add enough to bring it up to 39... Shock value for 100?? Being the pool was clear would it take this long??? Light niche is clean.. And no ladders

Ok well... Pool losing FC... So i decide to SLAM.. As far as i know my CYA is 80..Since Fri. Night i've been bringing the FC up to the shock value of 80 which is 31... Sat morning 22 Sat. Noon 18 Sat evening 22 This morning Sun 18......I dont seem to be gaining ground??? BTW the pool started...

So i guess just slam up to the current cya level and go from there???

Well Pat ... After bringing it up to 15 last night... Its 13 this morning with .5 cc...I think i added too much cya it was 40-50 which i thought was low...so the past 3 months ive added a pound at a time ... And it tested abiut 70... Waiting a week to test...Until yesterday where it seems to...
