Different PSI measurement at pump vs. filter???

JamesW - yes, I recently became aware of how ridiculously oversized it was once I started doing research. As a young homeowner I assumed the original builder/owner knew what they were doing, maybe not. And yes, I have a load disaggregation device on my electric panels and you are about...

Different PSI measurement at pump vs. filter???

Great, thank you for the replies. Jimrahbe - yes my plan is to replace with a VSP, I was mainly doing the above exercise to see if I actually needed 3hp before just buying it. I understand I can run the VSP lower so will still probably get a 3hp, but I had feeling the pump was very oversized...

Different PSI measurement at pump vs. filter???

Hi all - I am still a relatively new and naive pool owner. Some of the original equipment on the pool is starting to go, so I am beginning to do some replacements and installations. While learning about pool pump sizing and TDH, it seemed to be that the simplest and most accurate way to test...

Spa draining over night, not check valve

Jimmythegreek - the top of the spa is about 18 inches above the pool waterline, and the return line in the spa is basically level with the pool (18 inches deep in the spa). The equipment height (the bottom of the concrete pad) is about a foot below the pool waterline. Jim R - yes, apologies if...

Spa draining over night, not check valve

To answer your first question, yes my spa normally overflows into my pool. In the 2nd picture of my last post, on the left, the actuator is off on the spa drain and just pulling from the pool drain and skimmers (pool mode). On your 2nd point, I've never shut the pump off for a very long time...

Spa draining over night, not check valve

Ok see below for the setup, I imagine this is more complicated than most. I guess theoretically it could be anything on the spa (one of the actuators for the drain or the spa jets), but using a dye test on the spa shows that a slight amount of water is being pulled through the spa return - the...

Spa draining over night, not check valve

All - hoping someone on this forum may be able to help. My spa keeps draining overnight, and I know this is usually indicative of a check valve issue. However, I have replaced several times with different brands on Amazon, and nothing seems to prevent it. The water level drains all the way...

    Super Vision Pool Lights???

Thanks a ton ajw22! Love these forums. I think you are spot on, after more Googling it looks exactly like the Savi Melody. Troubleshooting with Jandy didn't fix the out of sync issue, so I'll have to evaluate options but at least I now know what I'm dealing with. Many thanks again.

    Super Vision Pool Lights???

First post on TFP, hoping someone can help. New homeowner/pool owner, pool appears to have been built in 2011/12. The 4 pool lights (3 pool, 1 spa) have always been out of sync since I bought the home last year, so finally began the process to figure out how to resync, which requires figuring...
