Water was clear until I didn't wait for help with the winter cover

Thank you! I tested everything last night before adding anything, attaching photo of results. Used the SLAM calculator and added 1 gallon and 3 cups liquid chlorine. Pool was noticeably less green this morning, filter still running a little on the weak side after it’s been going for a bit. Tried...

Water was clear until I didn't wait for help with the winter cover

I have a sand filter, got the pool installed in 2020. So should I do an initial test to see where the CYA and chlorine levels are now and add necessary amounts and let the filter run overnight and test again in the morning? Right now I’m having to backwash every hour or so because the flow...

Water was clear until I didn't wait for help with the winter cover

Just like the title says.....last year I got on the TFP method a little bit into the season, but I followed the directions for closing and when I started to roll away the winter cover (after getting the leaf net off and pulling up as much water as I could so all that was left was quite a bit of...

    Another successful SLAM!

Thanks folks. This is my third season as a pool owner and first using TFP (minus the initial start when I still used chlorine tablets). Came home from vacation Tuesday night and saw the water and immediately started the SLAM. These pics are Tuesday night to Saturday morning and 4 gallons of...

    Thanks TFP!

That’s what I was wondering-if I should keep the SLAM going for another day or two. I’ll be spending some time in there today and I’ll be doing a full test of the chemicals later (my alkalinity has been high since I started testing-keep adding MA but I couldn’t get it below 120 before I started...

    Thanks TFP!

Sand, pool was installed in 2020 so I don’t think the sand needs to be replaced yet?

    Thanks TFP!

Got home from out of town a week ago, water was a little green. Been doing SLAM for a week and think I’m finally finished. Passed OCLT, CC is 0, and water could be clearer but my TA was high when I started. All in, dumped about 10 gallons of bleach in, roughly cost $50 total. This is my first...
