Any rough ideas on what amount to start with? 1gal per week? I currently use a chlorinator and usually run it at about 5.

I'm assuming that my cya will rise again over time even after the water refill due to the fact that I am using chlorine with stabilizer. Is there an alternative to using chlorine with stabilizer?

I see, I should have just keep diluting until I got an accurate reading. The pool water is about 6 years old so maybe it's time. I was planning to closes it this week. Can I do my normal closing (algaecide, stain/scale reducer, shock) and the put cover on until spring? Shouldn't need much...

My kit makes enough each time for me to get about 3 tests. I poured in until I couldn't see black dot. Poured out and tried again until I ran out. If you want me to do again I can dilute twice to get a more accurate result.

I did it three times with what I had and all three where between 98-100. I can do it again but will be my last cya test as I am about out of the agent for the cya test.
