    MasterTemp AFS Error

Update: I temporarily gave up and hired a pool repair company to take a look. They wanted to replace the AFS and possibly Fenwal for about $1,000 and warned that other parts may require replacing if that didn't fix the issue. Thus I did a little more research including reading some Pentair...

    MasterTemp AFS Error

I didn't add any tape but adjusted the air flow "screen" to partially block the vent hole. Whenever I initially started diagnosing the the issue, the screen was actually out of place, and I was hoping that was the cause of the issue. Unfortunately the heater followed the same pattern: it ran...

    MasterTemp AFS Error

Howdy, I turned on the heater this weekend, and everything seemed to work fine for about 5 minutes. Blower turned on, flame ignited, hot exhausted was blowing hard and hot water was coming out of the return lines. Then the unit's Service Heater led started flashing and the AFS led was lit up. I...

    Plumbing Question

I've attached a photo of the intake side. I believe the left side is the pool drain and two skimmers, and the right side is the spa drain. I've been meaning to verify these and label them accordingly, but I started with the more complicated return side. Ahh, my fill system is above water, so...

    Plumbing Question

Yep, that's the backflow preventer for filling the pool. There's no auto-fill valve. I just turn the bottom/right red-handled valve when needed to manually fill the pool. I don't really understand why the backflow preventer is necessary since there is never "back pressure" coming from the pool...

    Plumbing Question

Hello, I'm trying to understand how my pool return plumbing works. In pool mode, water flows through pipes 1 & 2. This causes water to run through both the pool and spa jets. If I turn up the rpms, water will exit the spa water feature as well. In spa mode, water flows through pipes 3 & 4. 3...

    Water in Actuator

I took out the diverter valve and set it back in to ensure the o-rings were all correct. Seems to work fine and doesn't leak any water when manually moving. Not sure what happen but I'm going to keep an eye on it.

    Water in Actuator

Ahh, perhaps I didn't seat the o-rings properly or used the wrong ones. My actuator says CVA-24 by Compool, but I can't find a model number. I manually moved the valve a few times... but without the pump on, so I'll need to try again. Edit: the label was intact on the other one, which is...

    Water in Actuator

Howdy, A few weeks ago I replaced the diverter valve and o-rings to fix an air leak. I thought all was good until I noticed the actuator wasn't working this morning. As I was opening it up, it started working again, but I saw a good amount of water inside the actuator compartment. Is it...

Booster pump on its way out?

Thanks for the response! I've ordered some new swivels. Is replacing bearings a normal maintenance item or do you just wait for the pump to die and replace it?

Booster pump on its way out?

Howdy, My booster pump makes strange noises on startup that eventually disappear after running for a few minutes. Is this indicative of a pump that is about to go out? It's the original pump when my pool as installed 15 years ago and hasn't had any maintenance done since at least 3 years ago...

    Pentair Warrior SE Wheel Kit

Thanks Jim. The warranty is being handled from a vendor that's very popular with TFP. Maybe they forgot about me, so I'll follow up with them.
