Adding the acid is always my most dreaded task! In fact I have to add some today and I am not looking forward to it! I wear gloves and safety glasses and pour slowly infront of my return.

Just finished brushing and cleaning the pool. The water temp is 78, but it feels 60 to me. brrrrr

I read the directions just not sure about the ph, but I suppose if it is within the range it is ok. Good to know about the temp. I had not thought about that. It is chilly, around 75. Too cold for me but the kids don't mind. :shock:

We are enjoying cooler temps here in Indiana after a heat wave from heck. But I am sad to see summer coming to an end and closing the pool is the saddest part! Thanks for everyone who helps on this site. This site has made my pool ownership so much more affordable and enjoyable!

How long does it take acid to bring down PH? I added 3 cups last night but PH is still 8.2

I am just curious about what makes the ph rise? My pool has had a steady PH all summer, yesterday it rose to 8.2. I added the acid and will check it this evening. Just wondering, thanks!

Has anyone used bleach tablets in their pool? They were in the laundry section at wal mart. I didn't know if this could be used if you were going to be out of town. Any ideas?
