    Air in Pump After Opening

Replaced the o-ring and everything looks like I remember it last year. Glad it was the low hanging fruit.

    Air in Pump After Opening

I'll have to check when I get home, but I seem to recall there was some surface swirl, but nothing like a vertex going down into the skimmer. My pool level is right about halfway up the skimmer, and seems to be where I remember it last year before we closed.

    Air in Pump After Opening

I bought a house last summer with an older in-ground concrete pool. Attempted to open for the first time yesterday and I am running into some issues. I have an 18,000 gal pool, Pentair Superflo 3/4 HP pump, one suction line, one return line, sand filter. Had the local pool company close (never...

    Leaf Stains

Just closed an inground white painted concrete pool a few weeks ago. I am brand new to this, only had the house a few weeks. A windstorm blew up our tarp cover and leaves got in the pool. There is a decent amount (not completely covered or piled) of leaves on the bottom. Do I need to worry about...

    Changing to Mesh Cover

We bought a house with an existing in-ground painted concrete pool very recently. We were left with a Katch-a-Kid safety net and a solid "tarp" style cover as well as a submersible pump for winterizing. Today was first rainstorm after closing. Getting the pump in the middle was a major pain, and...

    Concrete Pool Closing Water Level

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, they blew out the lines and then added antifreeze. The pipe used for the skimmer is about half submerged. The L-pipe used for the jet hookup they rotated and after clearing so it is completely submerged. Both pipes are capped at the top. My concern was the...

    Concrete Pool Closing Water Level

We are in SW OH, so not horrible winters, but we have seen some long cold spells before. There was a Gizmo left behind by previous owner, but one of the pool guys told the other he couldn't use it (maybe it didn't have the valve to allow the lines to be blown out?). I didn't realize that "gizmo"...

    Hello from OH

Just moved into a house with an older but very nice concrete pool. I am not real satisfied with knowledge or quality of work from local companies. Had to use them this year because of such little time. But I plan to become self sufficient next year, and will thank everyone in advance for taking...

    Concrete Pool Closing Water Level

I am brand new to the pool world. Our home of six weeks came with a concrete pool. Just had it closed by local shop, and I am a bit concerned about water level. They blew out lines well. But they left it with a straight PVC pipe coming out of the skimmer line and a "snorkel" like L-shaped PVC...
