    Reducing CYA with Calcium Hypochlorite?

When i first bought my house, my CYA was off scale (go figure). I used RO here in Phoenix, and it worked great. I have had bacteria chew up some cya, but that happens usually more when you are coming from the low side (<50 ppm). Then the cya you added in the sock will disappear over a winter...

Need a plan for dispensing Diet Coke syrup

Sounds like a great idea! One thing to remember, don't try to pull the syrup from the top (at the dispenser) using vacuum but rather push it from the basement using pressure. Distilled water can only be pulled 42 ft vertically using a vacuum and the syrup, which i believe is more dense, would...

Pentair Whisperflow seal replacement How-to (w/ photos)

    Large crystals in my pool

Sorry Jamison, I took too long in posting and did not update to see your post. I know there is a well established history with CaSO4 precip in industrial applications (Desaline.com/articoli/5080.pdf for example) but I just was not sure in a pool based environment. The crystal picture is nice...

    Large crystals in my pool

I just want to beat chem geek in. 1700 ppm seems a little high for SO4 conc. What does anyone think about CaSO4 as the precip? I am just a novice on the board, so I would like to know what more experienced members of the board think. Thanks

I see draining in my future

I have a RFQ (request for quote) for RO. I have not tested my fill water yet, but that will probably define which way to go (that and the cost for the RO). I will keep you guys updated. Many Thanks!

I see draining in my future

Hi guys! Excellent BBS! Just bought a house here in AZ with an in ground pool. I know the previous owner used pucks to chlorinate and was very hands off. My test results (using the tftestkit) came back with the following results: FC 9, CC 0, TC 9, TA 160, pH 7.5, CH 680, CYA 120 or so, temp...
