    MajorDIYer - Spot on I think, based on a read of your link. Richard320 - You're right, silicone grease is an excellent sealer. I was a little concerned it might migrate down the conduit. I can worry about anything! Thank you both for taking a moment to help. Pete

    Got a question that certainly has a quick answer. I'm replacing a couple of pool light assemblies and when I opened the J-box in the deck it was packed with a sort of putty. Makes sense, since it's protecting the connections, but what kind of putty/ packing is it exactly? Plumber's putty...

    Thanks Voodoo for your suggestions. Yes, quite the job - since the end of last swim season - but there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Sure, I'd like to post some pics, if i can figure out how best to do it. In any event it would be several days. If you remember, check in a few. again...

    I'm nearing completion of a rehab of a long neglected pool (came w/ the new home). I cannot know the exact age of the pool, but I would guess about 25 yrs. Job started with replacement of all mechanicals on the pad, and thanks to mission creep has included resurrecting the floor cleaning system...
