Pump and plumbing recommendations for AGP pool with solar panels on 2-story house

I just read the 2 manuals for the solar controllers. I see how they have the wires to control a 2 separate pumps setup (main filtering pump + booster solar pump). I don't see how they can control a single 2-speed pump setup, and turn the pump from low to high speed when the solar goes on, and...

Pump and plumbing recommendations for AGP pool with solar panels on 2-story house

I ordered the 24 inch filter to replace my 21 inch unit, I will have 300 lbs of sand and 3.1 FT2 area compared to the 200 lbs and 2.2 FT2 area I have now. The price of the two solar controler is quite resonable. I will read more about the install process as I woudl like to do it myself. I...

Pump and plumbing recommendations for AGP pool with solar panels on 2-story house

I just took some pressure measurement with my brand new DuraChoice pressure gauge (the one with the glyceryn, reading up to 30 PSI). I get 11 psi at recirculate, 13 psi at filter without the solar panels, then keeping the filter on and directing the flow to the solar panels, I get 15 psi for...

Pump and plumbing recommendations for AGP pool with solar panels on 2-story house

These are the options I am considering: 1) replace the filter and nothing else; wait for the pump to expire before making further change; 2) replace the filter and pump with a proper size single speed pump, and make minor adjustements to the plumbing: 2 inch piping on suction side, add a...

Pump and plumbing recommendations for AGP pool with solar panels on 2-story house

Hi ALL First thank you for this site and all the useful information; it is now a pleasure to manage my water chemistry using the BBB method and my Taylor test kit. My pool is ~6 year old, and the pump/plumbing has given me trouble since it was installed. The latest issue being a pinhole...

Skimmer door got jammed by toys

In the end keeping the water level a little higher resolved my problem. I am now keeping the water level at about 1 to 1.5 inch below the top of the skimmer mouth and all has been fine this summer. Thanks for your input.

Skimmer door got jammed by toys

My problem is with my Hayward Max-Flow II pump. I have an 15K gallons AGP that does not have a bottom (main) drain, it only has a single skimmer. The problem is that once last year, and then again this past week, the skimmer door got jammed by toys, and there was not enough water getting to...
