    TA while treating algae

Thanks Jason, I just raised the TA to 60 and now after 3 days of continuous pump my pool is almost clear. TA is in check , PH as well, FC is obviously still high at about 25. What would be a safe FC value for letting the kids jump back into the pool? Tomorrow morning they ll see the pool...

    TA while treating algae

OK after almost 2 years of trouble free pool, thanks to BBB, I am now fighting some algae (my liquid chlorine supplier has gotten me without product for more than two weeks now). I am currently shocking my pool at 26 FC and have been running my pump for almost 48 hours. Pool finally turned...

    Liquid clorine

This was actually the point of my question. Pouring in front of the return will still involve some stirring in order to ensure proper propagation. While the return valve should take that by themselves ............. P_

    Liquid clorine

Is it OK to pour the liquid clorine directly into the skimmer ? Or you should always pour it slowly in front of the return jets ? P_

Can I paint over plaster ?

I surely had calcium scaling and only recently (got wise thanks to tfp) adjusted my CH level that was previously pretty much zero having used rainy water to fill up the pool. How do I do a no drain acid wash ?

Can I paint over plaster ?

My 3 years old plaster pool is fading its color. I've had it plastered with Diamond Brite Midnight Blue. Replastering is out of question , it would take to much money to import the product back, and I am thinking to just paint it ? Is it an insane idea ? P_

    Low level of TA

My TA level is at 50 and I do not seem to be able to keep it at 80/100. Is it because I have to constantly use muriatic acid to balance the regular increase of PH? I am using 12% bleach and in another thread of mine it's been discussed that the quality of my bleach might be the cause of the...

    (Q) Muriatic acid alternative

For as common as it seems, I am having hard time finding acid muriatic at my local supermarket or anywhere where I live. It may be weeks before they will stock it up again. Is there a common product that I can use as an alternative ? I just found out that, in my BBB method, using common bleach...

What type of algae is this ?

I use liquid clorine at 12%, I generally dump the required amount every afternoon , a couple of hours before I turn the pump off. Is there a specific pump/hardware for making the liquid clorination and/or the addition of the acid an autormatic process ? P_

What type of algae is this ?

Yes they are dark greenish now, but sure they tend to go to the black side. You may be very well right about the PH, it tends to go high and I need to add muriatic acid every second day. But why does it keep going up? It is because I have an infinity edge and the water get aireated overflowing...

What type of algae is this ?

I've gladly maintained my pool with a BBB method, for over 4 months now. All my values seems to be in check but I keep getting the grow of this "algae" . Can you please look at the pic and let me know what they are how to prevent them ? They are quite hard to be scrubbed off. I need a metal...

    Super Blue

Ouch :hammer: , and I thought I already had some knowledge. Chem Geek you really stand behind your nick !!! I'd say that the amount of urea is even more considering that the age of the kids was 4-7. I guess I have to wait a whole week before things will be back to normal. P_

    Super Blue

"I am surprised that you had any FC left at all after that." oh no, I did have a FC reading of almost zero at the end of the party . FC = 3 is now ....... actually now if 5.5 , because after your post I immediately added some more liquid clorine. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving , and...
