    Keep Getting Algae

I just wanted to +1 this comment from Newdude. If you have lights, take them out and clean behind them. If you have ladders, remove them and clean out the tubes.

Completed SLAM last week and now yellowish/brown stuff

Did you pop out and clean in and behind your lights and ladders? A sneaky algae colony in a low circulation location can quickly reintroduce algae after you think you have finished your SLAM.

Clouds when I brush bottom of pool

Also, if you haven't already, definitely be sure to pop out and clean inside your lights, ladder, and anything else that might be hiding a concentration of algae away from circulation. I got stuck in the gray algae dust on the floor stage for what felt like forever until I removed the light in...

    Plumbing for New SWCG

Thanks, @woodyp. That's definitely the easiest way forward, so that's great to hear. The SWG does include reducer bushings, so I think I am all set there. Any thoughts on retaining vs. ditching the check valve? I am going to need to cut on the other side of it to install the flow switch regardless.

    Vinyl Liner Stain Advice

I am not looking for any prizes for the patch job in the attached. (It was a tough job and my first time.) I am looking for some advice on the stains to the left of the patch: --The white residue is from Gorilla tape used in the initial temporary fix I did when we first moved in. (Not gonna...

Trichlor Purchasing/Use Advice -- FOR VACATION USE ONLY

Thanks, both. On my question 3, I've got the PoolMath numbers for total effect, but was thinking about the rate of addition. That is, I might need more total than daily consumption if the chlorinator is not adding it back fast enough. I think the answer is what @HermanTX suggested, which is just...
