Pool Builder blaming TFP Recommended Alkalinity levels for my staining

Yes - it does come off with a vitamin C tablet, but this one is worse than the other. Here is a photo of the other one after I worked on it for an hour with a whole bottle of tablets. I think at the beginning of next season I will do proper stain treatment which requires a very low chlorine...

Pool Builder blaming TFP Recommended Alkalinity levels for my staining

Hi, I have been following TFP process since 2014 (when I joined) with the only exception being that I do phosphate treatments to lower my phosphates. I am having some staining issues with my Skimmer and Vinyl liner and my Pool Builder says it is because I am keeping my Total Alkalinity too low...

Rust Stains on Liner and Skimmers

Hi, I have these rust stains on my skimmers and liner around my skimmers. I converted the steel wall inground pool to salt when I got a new liner in 2016. I don't think I am loosing water. Should I just use the vitamin C to try and clean it off? Should I contact pool company to check...

Green Pool after 3-days of SLAM

Thanks for the reply. I finally went down into the water and looked closer. It is definitely a metal stain. I will try Vitamin C assuming it is iron. Thanks again!

Green Pool after 3-days of SLAM

Not sure what I have going on here. At first I thought it was pollen/organic and just needed a day for chlorine to get rid of it after I vaccumed. Is this Mustard Algea. It is greenish / brown? It won't come off with standard brushing. If it is not algea it could be stains from my...

Green Pool after 3-days of SLAM

Just a quick update that it took a total of 7-days to clear up. I vacuumed twice to waste in that time. I think my big mistake was doing the first vacuum after opening normally thinking that filter will catch everything.

Green Pool after 3-days of SLAM

CYA is closer to 40 than 30 so I am increasing my SLAM level to 16. I was targeting 14 this morning and FC is already down to 12 4-hours after morning dose. I just added more and will check again tonight. It is also looking a little better now after brushing the walls and vacuuming to...
