No good deed goes unpunished ;)

Howdy neighbors! Quick update, he seems to be keeping up with it (testing, adjusting, backwashing, brushing). Progress is as expected : it's lightening up, still really cloudy.

    Making bulk 12.5%+ more manageable?

So now I understand why people would spend the money on a pump. The spigot is nice/no spills, but slowwww...(pour a little, big slow glurp, repeat). Makes perfect sense now that I've seen it in action. Takes a while to fill up 5 gallon bottles... Too bad I can't pop air holes in the refillable...

No good deed goes unpunished ;)

Things going well. Started sat morning 10 am. Wasn't quite a swamp, but couldn't see bottom of 4 foot pool, ick! PH now down to 7.2, cya is up to 20 (using dichlor on hand). CH is 120. He's testing hourly during the day (already bought a tf100 and speed stirrer!). He already had went out and...

Thanks Richard - definitely going to keep that option in mind. I haven't seen the swamp yet - I should get over there about 11:00 AM tomorrow after the jimmy fund cancer fund little league tournament finishes.

No good deed goes unpunished ;)

I'm on the second year of BBB started with a new pool - couldn't be happier, never had a problem, my pool is perfect (sorry for bragging). My neighbor and great friend has had a pool for 30 years, always had problems and has consistently been pool store'd and sick of his algae problems. When he...

    Making bulk 12.5%+ more manageable?

Awesome site - thanks! I called around to about 6 different local pool stores before I found the spigot/cap - pricier than the website you pointed out (spigot and cap was $9), but much better than the $25 for the beckson pump (plus freight which I didn't even ask how much that would be).

    Making bulk 12.5%+ more manageable?

Hi Dave - sorry for the ignorance, but what/who is alanda? I've spent a while googl'ing, but everything I've found are wholesale sites with minimum orders/exorbitant shipping, etc. I'm in NH and would love to get my hands on a couple of these (just converted my neighbor to a BBB'er) for short...

Confusing test results - end of my rope!

Horribly out of balance? Draining and refilling? Please relax, nothing you've said comes anywhere close to that. "I can't seem to raise the Chlorine level." - How have you been trying to get your chlorine up, what have you been adding? You do need to get your CYA up (BTW - adding cya should...

    Seeking advice - BBB Habits

I'm just about to burn off the last of my trichlor pucks - trying to bring up my CYA from a fresh pool fill. After that, I'm going to give the BBB a go. I wanted to know if BBB'ers would share their habits - personal experiences of what works well and what mistakes they've made. It definitely...

    CYA Cold climate question

I've read some of the very informative posts from chemgeek and tried to figure out how much CYA the trichlor pucks in my possession will add to my pool. I've tried using some of his numbers with the pool calculator, but I'm not having much luck coming to a coherent conclusion. Is there a simple...
