    Kreepy crawly vs. rolling robots

I need to buy a pool cleaner. I have never had one and only read about the different types here on TFP. I will be traveling and working a lot this summer and want something easy and trouble free for the wife to operate. I can only do suction side as I don't believe I am plumbed for pressure...

    Still cloudy, Saving my disaster

Well that sucks, The whole point of trying the BBB was to avoid having to drain and refill. Oh well, How could the CYA get so high. The only thing I can think of was I had my wife throw a couple of old trichlor pucks in the floater during the first week of shocking, thinking that with two...

    Still cloudy, Saving my disaster

First off thanks for all the help so far. The bleach shock worked great and my pool has gone from the black lagoon to almost ready for the swim season. I've kept the Chlorine levels at 10 ppm since because the water is not yet crystal clear. The water still has a white haze to it but no hint of...

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

Disater update: I got the new filter in Sunday last, it was easier and went quicker than I expected. I have vacuumed and cleaned cartrige every day since. I think i got most of the DE out of the pool and the water is finally starting to clear. The water is still pretty cloudy but I think...

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

UPDATE Finally got the new filter in and got to vacuum. In about fifteen minutes I had to stop to clean the cartridge. It was clogged with dirt and DE from the old filter blow back. I expect that the water should be much clearer with in the next couple of days. I'll take pics and retest the...

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

unions Thanks for all the advice so far. On a different note, I am getting ready to install the new filter and bought unions to do the hook up. After looking at them for a while I relized that it will be really easy to screw up the install. Is there a correct sequence to getting the unions...

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

Deceasing the PH I will try to lower the ph some tonight and change out he filter Friday or Saturday. To lower the Ph I need to add Muriatic acid? What would be the optimal ph for the bleach to keep working its magic? Is the stuff at home depot ok to use?

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

Moving slowly Cloudy but not green!!. I can now see down to the second step and almost to the bottom of the spa. I have been just keeping to the same regime but will cut back a little on the bleach tommorow. I stiil don't have an adequate test kit so I'll have to order one online. All the kits...

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

Progress is being made. The water has turned a cool shade of cloudy blue and I can start to see the second step. I will have to replace that filter if I ever expect the water to really get clear. The old DE has seen its last days. Spit out some DE while trying to vacuum last night, probably...

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

More bleach I added another 2.78 liters later last night, about four hours after the initial shock. I also threw some pucks into the float just in case I could not tend to the pool till late. My wife will be adding another 5.56 L this afternoon. The pool was looking cloudy but not too green or...

Saving my disaster!!! Giving the BBB a try

My Disaster!! After several days of research here on TFP, I've decided not to drain my pool and try the bleach method of saving the water. My plan is a bit suspect to start. My current DE filter is old and tired and blows DE out when vacuuming. I have already received my new filter (Hayward...
