33,000gal liner pool with deep end. Indiana. All my number are in recommended levels except alkalinity which is 200. I put a gallon of meradic acid in but it only lowers alkalinity about 20-30? Do I just need to keep adding more meradic acid?

I’ve been slamming since 9-2-21 and have been all over it keeping levels to 20ppm. Yesterday 9-11-21 I added half gallon at 3:30pm to bring it back to 20ppm. I checked it again at 9:30pm before bed and it was still at 20ppm. This morning at 7am it dropped to 15.5ppm. The pool has been super...

During the slam process should I keep auto cover open or closed? Does it matter? Wasn’t sure even with no one swimming if I should keep open with the high amount of cholrine in water? Or should I close to help keep it high?

We had it built last year. 1st year I followed pool store and everything was great but I think it was because it was brand new pool. Then I realized they we’re screwing me so I found Trouble free pool. And no I’m learning as much as possible. Any idea on cost to convert to salt water?
