    Intellivalve RS485 protocol

Hello, Does anyone have any documentation on the RS485 commands supported for the Intellivalve?

Keeping outdoor in-ground pool open through very cold winters (~ -40F)

Does anyone keep their outdoor in-ground pool open and heated through frigid winters (say North Dakota, Minnesota, Southern Saskatchewan, Southern Manitoba kind of area). I know there are some commercial places that do this (think Nordic style spas) but wondering if any private pool owners do...

Fiberglass vs Thermoplastic inground pool steps

I see that some manufacturers make fiberglass, some manufacturers make thermoplastic, and some make and market both with the same sizes, colours and shapes for inground steps. Whats really the difference between them, does one last longer, is one stronger than the other, etc.?

Hayward OmniLogic and networked ColorLogic Lighting, is finally here

I haven't heard anything else. Like you I couldn't really find anything else about it. I actually had heard the marketing buzzword "OmniDirect" from a Hayward employee, and went-a-searching for more information about it, and this is all I found. I'm not sure yet if there will be a separate...

Running outdoor inground pool during winter (real winter)

Well I suppose thats one of the things I'm looking to get out of this thread and others like it. The quick and easy would be to continue using the NG boiler. It is sized to handle the load down to about freezing, but was not sized to handle it during -30C temperatures. I'm not exactly sure...

Running outdoor inground pool during winter (real winter)

Good point as well. Hopefully won't be an issue for me! For the 2019 pool season, we'll be adding in two 10ton VRF heat pump systems. Currently we don't have AC in our house and the summers can get very hot here, so this will be a nice add, I'm going for the VRF versions of the heat pumps, so...

Running outdoor inground pool during winter (real winter)

That was great reading. I hadn't thought of an inflatable dome. We have a few commercial size ones around town for indoor tennis and golf centres so they can operate during winter. I had thought of of those huge white 'party tents' made of heavy plasticized canvas and vinyl that have a rigid...

Running outdoor inground pool during winter (real winter)

Ideally keeping it running to be used.

Running outdoor inground pool during winter (real winter)

Good points! I have a 96kW NG Genset with ATS, so we should be good for power either way. Perhaps having a 'spare' pump on hand would be prudent, ready to be swapped out if needed.

Running outdoor inground pool during winter (real winter)

Hello, I'm wondering how many/who here are running or have run their inground outdoor pool during winter and specifically in parts of the world that see sustained 24 hour/day -20C to -30C (-4F to -22F) ambient temperatures for 3 to 4 months a year? ie. parts of North Dakota, Montana...

Hayward OmniLogic and networked ColorLogic Lighting, is finally here

Just found this 2019 products brochure, which says that the OmniLogic will now fully support ColorLogic lights, without power cycling. Just as the network module did for the ProLogic. see page 5 of the brochure...

Hayward Omnilogic - Colorlogic Network Module delayed indefinitely (June 2017)

I wonder if anyone has any new information on this. I'm currently planning a complete pool reno, and am evaluating prologic vs omnilogic. I'm quite concerned that the OmniLogic isn't taking full advantage of the ColorLogic functionality. I'm particularly interested in the Dim and Motion...
