    Waterco vs Astral Pool Filter

I've actually decided to go with a Waterco Sand filter using glass pearl media. From another forum it seemed like Waterco and Astral were fairly on par. Top on my priority list was low maintenance. From what I've read cartridges do require a bit more work every time the cartridges need to be...

    Waterco vs Astral Pool Filter

No, I didn't check the spider gasket. It most likely is the cause of the leak but I have a very old filter + MPV, and so I thought it was time that it was to be replaced. There was the option of replacing the spider gasket or adding a shut-off valve to the waste pipe but my reasoning was if I'm...

Leak caused by either pump or the filter - what do I do now?

I'm planning to replace the whole filter unit. It seems to be just too old and in need of replacement soon anyway. I'm currently researching whether to get an Astral branded filter or a Waterco branded filter: Waterco vs Astral Pool Filter

    Waterco vs Astral Pool Filter

I currently have a DE pool filter that my local pool supplier has been telling me needs replacing. Recently my multiport valve has been leaking water into the waste/drain pipe fairly significantly so I'm looking to replace the filter. The local pool supplier only installs Waterco pool filters...

Leak caused by either pump or the filter - what do I do now?

I just talked to my local pool shop, and he mentioned replacing the spider gasket can be high risk considering my filter is very old. If I start the job and am unable to completely replace the spider gasket, he said it might require replacing the whole filter as a result. Instead, he suggested...

Leak caused by either pump or the filter - what do I do now?

Yes I do have a multiport selection valve. Thanks for that suggestion about the gasket possibly being pinched/defective. I might start by opening up my MPV and replacing the gasket there to see that it fixes the leakage!

Leak caused by either pump or the filter - what do I do now?

I have a pool leak which I think is caused by either the pool pump or the filter. Things that indicate this: I've done a bucket test a few times and the water level varies quite a lot after a day. With the pool pump running, there is about a 1.5 to 2cm difference in water levels. When the pump...

Is it ok to put the pump, filter and chlorinator in the subfloor/crawl space?

Here are some photos of the area. The mortar erosion is most significant around this area of the house where the pool equipment is located, so my immediate thought was it's due to the pool equipment being there. I guess with enough time and money we can relocate it, but I was wondering if it...
