    Liner Gritty After SLAM

I guess is it absurd to use that much liquid chlorine?

    Liner Gritty After SLAM

I also have slightly conflicting data, I believe the Taylor CyA test, the dot is virtually sitting in clear water when I run it. But while I was waiting for the reagent refill I used some test strip I bought from the pool store and it shows high stabilizer. My pool has no noticeable scent of...

    Liner Gritty After SLAM

So that will keep the water cloudy and the walls gritty?

    Liner Gritty After SLAM

I have been using the SLAM method for years but this is the first year I’ve really struggled, my CYA is low, like under 10 low. I have been keeping my FC at 12-16, it just won’t ever clear up and I always have .5-1ppm CC. I’ve been slamming since June 10, I’ve gone through 40-50 gallons of shock...

    Liner Gritty After SLAM

It’s a Taylor reagent test, I just don’t have the calcium hardness tests anymore, they got nasty looking and never ordered replacements/refills

    Liner Gritty After SLAM

I don’t have a Cal Hardness test but my total hardness is 300, pH is 8.4 but I’m still slamming. Alkalinity is over 200

    Liner Gritty After SLAM

My total alkalinity is high, free chlorine is 15, combined is .5, water is clearing up but when I feel my liner on the walls it feels gritty like sand paper, I can scratch it off but it’s everywhere. What is the cause and is there a solution other than scrubbing. In ground 40X20, 33,000 gallons.

    Pool teal and cloudy.

Ok gonna start vacuuming now, 24 hours after floc and pump off… is this just so fine the filter is missing it, or a filtration issue? Pool is perfectly clear now just dust/dirt all over the bottom

    Pool teal and cloudy.

Continuing to slam, added the floculant and shut pump off last night. Pool is still cloudy but better, very very fine layer of dust on the bottom

    Pool teal and cloudy.

I’ve tested for ammonia with pet store tests and used my automated testing unit for my reef tank. Both show none, plus I’m not losing CYA or FC very fast. Still at 20 ppm FC now

Update FC 22 ppm CC 0 ppm CYA 30ppm Cal 350+ TA 110-120ish pH 8+ but I’ve been slamming Still green, still dusty along the bottom all over, been slamming for 15 days now, and I’ve gone through 56 gallons of 11% chlorine

    Pool teal and cloudy.

CYA is up to 30 ppm now, I took the multi port off the filter again. Sand level looks good, and as tight of a fit as im getting on the standpipe it’s just not feasible to be leaking back that way during normal filtration. Im thinking either the sand is just not filtering properly or what I’ve...
