opened to swamp confused by chlorine readings

thanks for your time and help Dave. I will continue per your advice, just seemed strange as I have found pool calc to be quite precise in the past for this pool, maybe it was sampling error and I had a higher level this am than I thought. For sure the methods you folks teach here have worked...

opened to swamp confused by chlorine readings

Yes Dave I am using pool calc, my confusion is how I went from 0 to 25ppm on six 96 oz jugs when pool calc calls for nine. I added that at 8:00 this morning and just tested at 22 @ 11:40. Seems like it went up to high based on the dose and seems like it is should be coming down more quickly...

salt level Question Sorry long post.

Another question for you. Given the information above what % should I start the unit off at. For now I am running the pump 24/7, although I have installed a timer and at some point will probably cut that to 12 hrs to save electricity.

salt level Question Sorry long post.

Thanks for the the quick answers. The pool is L shaped, off the top of my head it is 40x22 with a 17 ft el, 3.5ft in shallow end and 8.5 deep end. I think 33,500 is what we calculated and I find the pool calculator to be quite accurate so I think we are close. As the electronic tester at the...

salt level Question Sorry long post.

Hi everyone: We bought a pool with a house attached almost four years ago. I had never cared for a pool and was pretty uncomfortable with my ability to care for it. I did have some understanding of testing water from keeping fish but that is far different from pool care. A friend with a...

    trusted aquarium forum?

Nother good site Try a website called The Krib. It is not a forum but contains a ton of solid info. It is specifically geared towards Planted Aquaria and has lots of good info on algea control and water quality. We moved two years ago, hence the pool and I have not replanted my 90 gal yet but...

Question on pump run time and pool size

thanks for the welcome Thanks, there is an amazing amount of knowledge here, much of which is probably over my head. However I feel much less stressed at this point, but I do want to be sure to take the best care I can of my larger than expected investment. It would appear the previous owner...

Question on pump run time and pool size

Good morning, I was referred here by a friend and have been reading up on pool care here for about a year and have a couple of questions. As background my wife and I bought a house about 18 months ago with an approximately 33,000 gal inground pool. This is my first experience with pool ownership...
