    Cloudy water

I'll bring a sample in to both pool stores in town Monday and compare the results vs mine at home then I'll update here. From what I've read I figured it should be at least 100ppm and higher. It's been about 6 months since I had it tested in store for a comparison. So it's probably time to check...

    Cloudy water

Yeah it came with the house. My wife wanted the house for the pool and I didn't want it for that reason. So of course we decided to get the pool.

    Cloudy water

As far as I know it's reporting CH correctly. Had a sample tested in store and read roughly the same. I'm getting Cal-Hypo 68% at $4 a pound so it seems to be a little cheaper. With a pool this size a new salt water would be best. Financially it hasn't been possible yet all at once.

    Cloudy water

I would love to switch but the cheapest I can find chlorinating liquid in my area or surrounding areas is about $7 a gallon which seems pretty steep for only being 10% concentration. As far the CH it was testing at 0 the day before I added a large dose of cal-hypo. I would imagine by your...

    Cloudy water

Good day all. I have a 70k gallon vinyl lined pool. I chlorinate with GLB Cal-Hypo 68%. I've been pre diluting and mixing off in a bucket when adding but this makes my water cloudy. It's been mid 90's to 100 plus here for the last month so I'm having to add daily to keep up with the correct...

    Calcium Hypochlorite granules

Yeah it's too big in my opinion. Came with the house and got it for a good deal so the wife wouldn't let me pass it up lol. Here are some Google map pics for scale. The house is just a hair over 1900 Sq ft.

    Calcium Hypochlorite granules

Pictures don't do it justice. It's 33ft wide at the widest point and 42ft long. 10 foot deep on over a quarter of the pool. The gallons came from the company that replaced the liner. It's 1,482 Sq ft of vinyl.

    Calcium Hypochlorite granules

Ok thank you. They are black poly drums. Just wishful thinking instead of mixing off the bags one pound at a time.

    Calcium Hypochlorite granules

I normally use liquid chlorine to treat my pool. It's 72k gallons, vinyl liner and freshwater. I live in a small area and liquid chlorine is beginning to become very difficult to find and also extremely expensive. I recently came into 200lbs of cal-hypo granules for dirt cheap due to a friend...

    Full Sun chlorine loss

I do an OCLT everyday now and haven't had one fail in the last week or so. I was coming off of an algea bloom so I'm still a little gun shy. I was just a little worried with the numbers because I don't remember a summer in the last few years where I've had to go through so much chlorine daily...

    Full Sun chlorine loss

Thanks for your help. It seems that my loss isn't abnormal seeing as my pool gets direct sunlight for 8 or more hours a day. The loss just seemed a bit excessive, so I was trying to see how more experienced owners were fairing this summer.
