My concern is that it's supposed to be hot when I leave although I'm not sure how long it will stay that way. In SoCal the sun is always strong so I'm hoping that it does help a bit despite the heat.

This morning I tested again. Looks like the first time it hasn't dropped more than 1ppm overnight. It was a bit hard to judge but my loss was somewhere between .5 and 1ppm. I think that I've gotten over the algae. I'll do another overnight test to be sure.

How would I go about cleaning it if the parts are hollow but permeable? i.e. they can let water in but there's no real way to clean them? Just flood them with clorox somehow?
