Maytronics thinks it's the controller.......

OK I got it running again. Sort of. It’s just bouncing around in the pool. No period selected on the controller. So something is screwy somewhere. It might run indefinitely since the controller doesn’t switch off? I can’t even press the power button to stop it,I have to unplug it.

I threw my triton in the pool like usual and went to check on it later to see it wasn’t moving. Going back to the controller the “interval” lights were all blinking. Quick google says unplug and plug. Tried that. Same blink pattern. Unplugged again And took the robot cord off and plugged in...

I read about this and went to check my flame rod (last week) and the rod screw and bracket are rusty. I just TOUCHED my screw driver to the screw head and the head fell off. I'm afraid to remove the rod now and have the bracket crumble.. and the screw hole still filled by the rusted screw...

Yep. No matter what we did we couldn't get a good seal so I bought a new o-ring. When we put the top half of the shell back on it was evident the other one had lost it's shape or became compressed because the shell had a lot of 'gap' between the top and bottom until it was clamped back down...

Ahhh. I see the o-ring is oblong. That could be the problem... will check tomorrow with daylight.

Wait, the oring has sides? The thing is as clamped as it can get. The band is nearly touching itself.

I did notice the coating material on the inside of the band is flaking off. I wonder if the loss of whatever thickness that is, is causing grief?

I'm late on the filter cleaning, but my pool guy took apart my CL580 and rinsed the filters, took the o-ring off and wiped it down and wiped down the channels on the top and bottom of the shell and liberally lubed the o-ring and put the top half back on and put the band on again. We tried...

So far so good. It did miss getting a patch of leaves out on the first run but got them the second run.

I have a Triton on the way, my Aquabot Breeze 4wd broke for the 4th time in 2 seasons.. it's done.. I'm done with Aquabot. Hope Maytronics fairs better.

This thing has been a literal nightmare. The swivel has blown apart twice and now it seems like it just gives up. It's only been through 2 full pool seasons. I went through the diagnostics where you flip it on it's head and plug it in. The fan spins and the wheels move backward and forward but...

If maytronics felt that way perhaps they should warranty them for two years instead of 1.

Don't be so fast to want a swivel. My Aquabot Breeze 4wd has broken twice at the swivel in basically 2 years time. Once under warranty and once out of warranty which I managed to fix. Though I'm unsure my "fix" will last long.
