I thought it was clear, but apparently not.

Thanks for all the info. Yes I used the shock process and did the overnight loss test. I run the pump 24/7. I don't know what you mean by "channelled" with the sand. Where do I get Muriatic Acid? Thanks!

I thought it was clear, but apparently not.

Hi - I'm a new pool owner and opened a swamp earlier this year. I have the test kit and have been using it. I've been using bleach and trichlor tabs for chlorine, baking soda for alkalinity. A pool guy came out yesterday to look at my sand filter because I've been getting sand in the pool at...

    Shock first? Or raise alkalinity?

Hi. I've almost got everything in order. I'm still reading CC 1.5 so from what I've read I need to shock the pool. Do I do this first? My pH and TA is reading a little low so I was going to add baking soda to the skimmer to raise it. Also, what is bromax for? Do I need to add some to the pool...

Got my test kit! Here are the numbers

The CC level is 1.5 I wrote it right. Does that mean I need to shock it? Also should I dissolve the borax and baking soda before adding it?

    Quick question

Wow - you guys are fast! No, they did a test strip as well and just told me it was okay to swim and to use one of the tablets to scrub off the stains while I was in there. I haven't tried that yet. Once I get the test kit I ordered, I'll put the numbers I get up. I was just checking to make...

    Quick question

Hi - So glad I found you! We just bought a short sale house with a pool and a pond in the backyard, both of which were green/black and hadn't been maintained in over 2 years. With the help of the local pool store I've gotten the water in the pool a pretty blue/clear color, although my test...
