I’m using liquid chlorine to sanitize and was getting a good deal at BJ’s Wholesale Club. 4 gallon case of Austin’s Liquid 12.5% chlorine Shock for $24.99. Well now all the BJ’s in my area (northern Delaware) are sold out. The pool stores in my area like Leslie’s want $40 for a case of 4...
Unfortunately a salt generator is not in the budget now. Just wondering in general given someone’s experience how often they need to add liquid chlorine if that’s what they’re using.
Just wondering now that I am completely off stabilized chlorine tablets and using liquid chlorine only in my 29,000 gallon vinyl lined inground pool, how often do I normally need to add chlorine to maintain appropriate sanitation levels. I mean, I’m glad I’m not using the tablets anymore, but...
My local pool supply has 5 gallon carboys of 12% for $32 which is $6.40/gallon. I guess that’s not too bad. Just need to figure out how much to buy to last the season.
Looking for suggestions for liquid chlorine (bleach). Any decent grocery store type bleach you can recommend? Or do you know of any decent priced higher concentration liquid chlorine like the pool stores sell. Leslie’s wants $18 for 2 gallons of 10-12.5% liquid chlorine. That’s ridiculous.
Thanks. I would be pretty nervous about draining my vinyl liner pool even that far. I just plan on draining it down to the bottom of the skimmer refilling and draining again a bunch of times until I get to the level I want.
Yep. I use liquid chlorine after reading the material in this group and have stopped using stabilized chlorine pucks. The other issue I have treating my pool is that the pool came with the house when I bought it and there was a little information as to exactly how many gallons it is plus it’s a...
Thanks for all the great advice. It seems like TFP recommends borax over washing soda for raising pH. Just wondering what the advantage is with borax? I’ve been using washing soda because it seems like I need to use a lot less of it than borax to raise the pH. Just wondering if there’s a...
My CYA is high. I know I need to drain my pool but in the meantime is there a CYA test that will give a reading over 100. The Taylor and Blue Devil test kits only go to 100. My pool store says it 140 by their test but I don’t want to keep going to the pool store. I take it I can’t just dilute...
Any suggestions for a pool robot under $1,000?? Its seems that unlike other tech like computers, TVs, etc, this pool tech never comes down in price.
22’X 32’ inground, vinyl liner, Grecian shape
9ft at deep end
My first time with trouble free pool. So TFP recommeds using unstabilized chlorine to maintain regular levels correct? Since it’s unstabilized does that mean I can’t add it during the day to the sun degrading it?
Ugh. High chlorine, high CYA, low pH but high TA. Any ideas of what to do??
25,000 gal vinyl inground
FC 10
CC 0.5
pH 7.0
TA 150
CYA 140
I know a have to to drain to tackle the high CYA. Just don’t know how to raise the pH with the high TA that’s just gonna drive the TA higher. Any suggestions?
