Brandon, Did you get a list of subs? If so, would you share. I'm putting together a list of resources for Valley residents based on forum posts.

How is your build going? We are in Phoenix and just beginning our build. Any contractors you would recommend. There is a great thread on here called New Build in Mesa. He lists a lot of contractors. Would be great to get a current list of contractors going in TFP for Arizonans in the Valley.

I am an idiot and listened to Leslie Pools. Now I need help please!

I rinsed the walls pretty well before filling. When I first started the pump after refilling, it did blow some dirt/algae back into the clear pool. At first, I just thought that was normal since the pump had been off for about a week, but maybe it is blowing sediment back in. Update: The seals...

Hmm. I just had the O ring replaced a month ago. Is this different? I'm just so curious as to what is causing this cloudiness. The water is not "new" per se, but refilled completely from the tap with only bleach and cya added.

    - - - Updated - - - it appears that my pool pump is leaking out the backwash flow when I turn on the pump. It is just a few drips and I tried to capture it in the picture. Could that be the reason for the cloudy pool? Any suggestions on fixing it or is this normal? Time to call a pool guy?

Ok. I am going to practice patience. Sorry about the split threads - that would be my LPOP (lack of pool owner patience). I will wait a week and see if the CYA is registered and if the filter clears it up. Great suggestion for the sandpaper. The brush and acid did not seem to work.

Drained and Refilled. Pool Now Cloudy

Flow is good. The pressure is 18 psi. I will have to check the bypass valve. Sand was changed in December 2013, so I doubt it is that.

Drained and Refilled. Pool Now Cloudy

Cloudy Pool Merged by moderator. Please keep your related posts together. jblizzle Last week I drained the entire pool, and scrubbed with bleach. Per the TFPC method, I've only added bleach and granular CYA (7 cups in a sock in the filter basket) for a target level of 30 CYA, once I refilled...

Drained and Refilled. Pool Now Cloudy

I've only added bleach and granular CYA. CC is 0. FC is holding at 5.

Drained and Refilled. Pool Now Cloudy

Ran the pool pump for about 36 hours. FC is now 5. CYA has mostly dissolved from the sock. Pool is still very blue and very cloudy and this is all brand new water, so I'm not sure what the problem is, Anything else I should test for? Should I backwash again?

Drained and Refilled. Pool Now Cloudy

Thanks for your advice. I will add the 7th cup. I had figured that I would test the CYA in a week. Anything I can do about the cloudiness in the meantime?

The target CYA is 30. Using the pool calculator it was 56 oz by volume which equals 7 cups. I went for the smaller end.
