    Help with understanding valves functions

thanks guys... Yeah the installer never put the weir door on, its never been in place, I'm willing to bet it got tossed by the builders during clean up (pool was built late 2022). I think I have the original skimmer lid in my garage someplace (current cover is the kind with matching concrete on...

    Help with understanding valves functions

re: main drain, copy that! Yes I have a diverter thing, I removed it long ago thinking it might hinder the sucking power. re: weir door, there is none, I can see the holes where its supposed to mount. Would that help make a difference with the pollen? I'm guessing they are universal and I...

    Help with understanding valves functions

Thanks for the responses. I have one skimmer. In the bottom of the skimmer there are two open holes (only one of those holes has any suction) I do have a capped off port on the side of the pool wall which I believe is for one of those manual "robot" vac things (I've never used this). I...

    Help with understanding valves functions

Hi all, Spring time and loads of pollen on the surface of my water. Even with my pump turned up to cleaning mode/high speed, the skimmer just doesn't get the tiny bits of pollen off the surface. I read in the forums that a possible solution would be to adjust the valves so that my skimmer is...

    FC steadily decreasing

Salt is low (about 2200ppm) and per Jandy Trucell ideal level is 3000ppm. Maybe it'll work more efficiently once I get the level up.

    FC steadily decreasing

@jark87 ...thanks yes I passed 2 consecutive OCLT earlier this week, so I'm good there thankfully (I had a successful SLAM a couple months back). @cwswifty ...thanks per google looks like the normal UV peak for Los Angeles is in July. Last summer I had a pool guy (our first summer with the...

    FC steadily decreasing

Funny I've always wondered what those extra orange reagents were and always meant to look it up. I'm surprised that Taylor makes no mention of these in their test kit paperwork. Anyhow thanks for the recommendation, I'll will do this test later today.

    FC steadily decreasing

Hi thanks… How do check the salt level? Also I ran the SWG for 20hrs yesterday and my FC has come up by 1ppm. Which seems like it jives with what ajw22 said.

    FC steadily decreasing

Gotcha! Didn't realize the SWG needed to run so long. I've increased SWG to 20hrs/day to see if I can get the FC back up and will then experiement with the times. I'll bump my CYA back to 70 as well.

    FC steadily decreasing

Hi all, FC has been steadily decreasing over the past month: Today: FC 4ppm (CYA 60… maybe 50) 2 weeks ago: FC 6ppm (CYA 60) 4 weeks ago: FC 8ppm (CYA 70) I’m running my SWG at 70% for 12hours a day (which seems like a lot), so it feels odd that my FC isn’t higher or at least maintaining. I...

Drain cap seems to be stuck

Thanks, I was able to get it off by sticking a screwdriver inside and pulling up (levering the screwdriver on the floor inside/under the cap.
