Raypak R5350TI-E heat pump melting one of the spade connectors between the relay (with the incoming 240V) and the capacitor.

Thank you very much for all the suggestions. If nothing else, you've made it clear that I'm in over my head and need to hire an expert !!! FWIW, it's wired with the recommended minimum breaker (50A) and the breaker has never tripped. We've been using it for about 3 years now and it was never...

Raypak R5350TI-E heat pump melting one of the spade connectors between the relay (with the incoming 240V) and the capacitor.

Strange question but it's the second time that one of the wires that's between the relay (with the incoming 240V from the house) and the main capacitor (I think it's a capacitor) melts / explodes at the spade connector (it's a thick blue wire). Just so it's clear, this is a wire that comes in...

Newbie plumbing question. Any reason to go from 2" pipes to 1 1/2" (don't have any choice) and then back to 2" ?

I have to change the filter and the salt cell (old style is no longer made and new style uses bigger fittings so can't use existing ones) so need to change some of the plumbing. Pool guy that replaced my skimmer last year said that I should use 2" between the pump and filter.

Newbie plumbing question. Any reason to go from 2" pipes to 1 1/2" (don't have any choice) and then back to 2" ?

Hi, we have to change our filter and salt cell unions so I need to change some of the plumping (inground pool). I'm going to go from the pump to the filter using 2" but then from the filter it goes to the roof and our solar heater which is all 1 1/2" (and I'm not going to replace it) and then...

Raypak 5350ti heatpump not turning on. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you so much. I'll open it up and try to identify the part number (if I can't get someone to come look at it!)

Raypak 5350ti heatpump not turning on. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for checking. Fixed the video (I hope ... I had set it as "Publish Sunday July 17" - not even sure how / where I would set that!) The fan does not turn.

Raypak 5350ti heatpump not turning on. Anyone have any ideas?

We have a heat pump (Raypak 5350TI) to heat our pool and it recently stopped working. I think it might be a capacitor or something. It just does the click that it's turning on and then a buzzing sound when it tries to start. Here's a short video: Let us know. Thanks, Mike

Does anyone know if Jandy Aquapure still tries to generate chlorine if the service light is on?

Hi, our Jandy Aquapure is throwing an error code 121 (low current in reverse direction). I don't have time to replace the cell right now (I'm still using the old square ones and I need to do some pretty significant re-plumbing to switch to the new style) so I was wondering if it still tries to...

Jandy Aquapure 1400 'HH' when pressing temperature, '--' when pressing salinity

Ignore the message, I found another sensor to try (I'm a pack rat and have a bunch of old ones lying around and it works now - I should probably order a new one (just didn't want to do it before I confirmed that was actually the problem)).

Jandy Aquapure 1400 'HH' when pressing temperature, '--' when pressing salinity

Hi, I hope someone can recommend a solution. My Jandy Aquapure 1400 has recently stopped working. When I press the salinity button, it gives me a "--" reading, when I press temperature it displays "HH". I tried another sensor and it didn't make any difference. The cell is probably about 3...

Solar + heat pump. What's best way for plumbing?

Hi, we have a solar system for our pool which does a great job in the summer (usually maintains pool temp at 88-90 through July-August) but I'm thinking of getting a heat pump to supplement the system for early / late season. I can't see any reason not to continue using the solar system all the...
