I agree, that has to be a ton of organics that use a lot of chlorine to die....you'll want to vacuum that stuff (to waste ideally I think) and then the SLAM should go faster. Dead algae should turn your water blue-white, if it's still green there's living stuff.

We got some for a cruise where we went snorkeling....I decided I didn't need to break out the matching fins. The snorkel came in handy cause I could just float and pick stuff out in the shallow end. Though my eyes aren't great (glasses) so it's a little tough for me lol It was a lot cleaner...

What he said...backwashing removes all DE from the filter. Maybe just add 1/2 a cup or a cup and let it sit overnight?

You could also backwash if you don't feel bad losing that DE, it'd help calm your nerves I think. I just added a quarter cup myself and may not have seen a huge rise, but definitely helped filter, so was just sticking with that...

I ran into this as well....trying some of my pucks to see if that helps raise it before going and buying another brand to try. I added 3/4 of a container of HTH over a few weeks this summer and didn't register....

There was some glass, but all in one spot. It was one of those plant "globe" things that you fill with water, flip upside down, and stick in a pot...it had blown up and over our fence into the pool. I got my goggles on and got all the glass I could see, and i'll be checking after the cleaner...
