Hi Everyone, I’m having a new liner installed next week and after filling the pool with a garden hose, when do I add salt? Everything I’ve researched through the forms or internet sounds like I should balance the pool first (PH, alkalinity, FC, CYA etc) then add salt last. Is that correct?

should’ve clarified they do an initial measure to order the liner and then when the pool gets drained they do a final measure. They didn’t want to drain pool and leave it empty for 6 weeks said it will cause more damage to concrete.

No they measured today. I asked them they didn’t seem concerned but not taking there word for it in case it will cost me more. Should I be worried?

No. Just a stain remover, I did have to add water to the pool as well after as water levels dropped. Then used stain and scale due to copper levels raising a little. Then after 24 hours i shocked it

Yes I think it’s scale. I bought some scale and stain remover which I’ll be adding tonight. I think it was from improper balancing because it wasn’t noticeable when we went for an inspection in May. When I took over Ph was 8.2 and TA was 150

Thanks I brushed for 2 hours yesterday and got 1/8” at best off. From my understanding mustard algae isn’t hard to get off just hard to maintain so I’ll try the stain remover I brought. Waiting for my test kit as well to do the overnight test

I’m testing water but only with strips. I’ll be getting the kit soon. Read the manual on my salt generator and Preferred FC was 1-3.
