cloudy water after 10 days, results looks like its on the right track

Note: I'm still doing a slam. this year, i had a bright green open where as last year it was black. last year cleared much faster than this year. readings as of this morning ph 7.3 fc 9 cc 1.5 ta 50 ch 75 cya ~40 I'm raising the fc up to slam level but to continue my question is, outside of...

Hayward Super Pump VS and Super Pump VS 700 comparison

To potentially save $200 or less, i'm putting in way too many hours :D.. However, I think I finally found my answer. They are essentially the same based on the replacement parts diagram if you are getting the SP2603VSP version . You are paying upfront for a dealer only product with 2 more years...

Hayward Super Pump VS and Super Pump VS 700 comparison

After calling two Hayward support numbers and local pool stores that sell the vs700, I haven't gotten any answers one way or the other. Still, only the warranty and how its sold is the only difference I can find. Hayward support wasn't sure if its the same motor used between the two.

Hayward Super Pump VS and Super Pump VS 700 comparison

In the market for a new pump and have decided on variable speed due to energy rates and local utility rebates (-$300), etc... just makes sense. Locally, the hayward dealers have the SuperPump VS700 for $899...

    Using up Old Shock

You shouldn't add it to well balanced water. It will only go higher. One option... I had really low cya for this year's open and supplemented with some bags to raise cya and fc since I was slamming anyway. You may want to consider that in future seasons.

Opening swamp, going well, still cloudy

a few more questions. This is technically my first time opening a winterized pool. Last year, it was a new house purchase and we needed a new liner. Fresh water opens are way too easy. So this year, its taking more time. Going through the steps, all is fine, I consistently drop about 10ppm fc...

Opening swamp, going well, still cloudy

I'm into day 4 of a swamp opener and it's going well so far. My current stats Ph 7.8 Fc 15 Cc 0 Ta 70 Cya- ? It's been cloudy. Closed in fall with 40ish so I'd expect 30s with a few winter pump outs. Last night I lost no fc Progressing everyday but it's still cloudy. I can see the floor...

corrected ph, after a few days, back to same level?

Ch tested at 100 so it looks like I'm good on that front with vinyl. I was shocked it was so low.

corrected ph, after a few days, back to same level?

midrange ph sounds better to a beginner than either extreme:confused:. I suspect we have reasonably hard water so I'll test ch tonight, all discussions say it doesnt matter for vinyl so thats the only reason.

corrected ph, after a few days, back to same level?

recent full test results were fc 5 cc 0 cya 30 ph 7.8 ta 90 ch - vinyl, dont test Last week I decided to tweak cya slightly to bring it up to 40 and bring ph down a bit to 7.4. after cya was done dissolving, I waited a day, then added muriatic acid and tested ok at 7.5 (prob water volume is...

A friend uses this, why exactly does it do

When we bought our house we found a few unused tablets that had copper in them and I threw them out.. same brand they use. I'll let them know and see how that conversation goes. Tradition is hard to overcome. Thx for the quick input. They use guess strips and a few other pool store products so...

A friend uses this, why exactly does it do

A friend uses this chemical in their pool once a week . Anything I should warn them about? They don't do tfp and use tablets with 5% copper sulfate. It's a slow process to convert them haha.
