    Cloudiness and biofilm at waterline

This is what he replied privately, and it appears he is correct. I kept running last night, wiping away and skimming the small chunks. After several rounds, the water cleared, and all the chemistry stayed where it was supposed to. “ No need to dump the water. Clarity will return within a...

    Cloudiness and biofilm at waterline

I have a Hot Springs Grandee that is about a year old. I converted to saltwater seven months ago and did a purge with Ahhsome at that time. Then refilled. Hot Springs says to change the salt cells every three or four months, but most reports are that they last longer than that. I think mine...

Converted Hot Spring Grandee to Freshwater Salt System

Have been running the saltwater system at 8. I'm adding a bit of dichlor after heavy use, but maybe a teaspoon at a time. I'm not even sure that's needed. I was in there for about an hour the other night. 2 kids were in for 30 minutes and wife was in for 30 minutes. When we got in, chlorine...

Converted Hot Spring Grandee to Freshwater Salt System

This is my plan. So far, my bather load isn’t dropping free chlorine to unsafe levels, so I’m not dosing after use. But I’ll continue monitoring and will do so, as needed. I have very little cya, so I’m thinkingI need to turn down my SWG output a bit to add dichlor until it’s built up. Then...

Converted Hot Spring Grandee to Freshwater Salt System

I never dropped to lower than needed sanitation levels. I tested before use, after use and the following morning for the first few months, just making sure I knew how usage would affect my chlorine levels. I got it down to a science very quick doing that. My combined chloramines were...

Converted Hot Spring Grandee to Freshwater Salt System

I have had my hot tub about 6 months and was doing fine following the liquid chlorine dosing used here. Sometimes, though, the water had a strong smell, and I could never leave town for more than 5 days without having someone manually dose with chlorine while I was gone. Also, I had to dose...

    Refill and using Aqua Clarity/Ahhsome

I will say, after purging, draining, cleaning, refilling and balancing water, I’m about 8 hours In to get the water up to temp and chemistry pretty well balanced . Not overly difficult, but definitely time consuming. And that was using a sump pump to drain it. I’ll be converting to saltwater...

    Refill and using Aqua Clarity/Ahhsome

I’m about to say screw its and Jump in. It’s 100° now.

    Refill and using Aqua Clarity/Ahhsome

Maybe some residual Ahhsome. That could be it. I’m scooping it out with a fine net. I’ve added Dichlor, some pH Down, calcium hardness increaser and alkalinity increaser. That’s it. Water seems balanced very well.

    Refill and using Aqua Clarity/Ahhsome

I definitely have some foam with this fresh fill. pH is 7.6. CH is 100, FC is holding steady at 4. Alkalinity is 50. Aerating with everything in it and bring temp up. It’s at 95°right now. Hopefully, the foam dies down

    Refill and using Aqua Clarity/Ahhsome

I overshot calcium hardness last time and it was up over 225. I think I’m going to just get it up to you around 125-150 and see how it goes this time.

    Refill and using Aqua Clarity/Ahhsome

Not at all. I’m just now getting it back up to 90°, where I can start adding chemistry for start up. This is the Dichlor that I have. I felt like everything was off, and I had to get it in check after start up last time. Also tried to use the frog @ease system again last month when we went out...
