Hey all. Just to follow up. If I drain 1/4, refill and repeat 3-4 times, will this help the tendency for the pool to stain? Do I maintain chlorine level while doing this? Pool is crystal clear, no algae, I don't lose fc overnight, etc.

If the ph stays right now where I have it at 7.4, I'm just completely screwed with reappearing stains now? If so, draining is the only option it seems unless I want to keep adding a lot of metal free weekly, etc.

Thank you for that. After reading it, I did raise the ph a couple days ago while still adding the chlorine. This would cause stains to appear? And if yes, will it continue to do so?

This morning I got the fc up to 25 again. Just checked and only lost 3 fc through today's 80 degrees and sunny temps. This is pretty good right? Will perform the overnight test again tonight.

Okay so we went from 22 to 18.5 fc overnight. More bleach going in to get back up to shock level and do it all over again today. Will vacuum to waste today after work and refill a little to lower cya some more. It's at 80 now.

Okay so 2 hours later fc has dropped to 17. 256 more ounces in now. Will test before bed and then see how much was lost overnight. This sounds right?

Just an update today. Overnight last night I drained about 10% of the pool and refilled. Today after work vacuumed to waste and got rid of another 15% and now refilling again. Overnight hope to do another drain of 15% and refill. Quick question...should I be starting the process of slamming...
