Pump Won't Turn Back On After Cleaning Cartridge Filters

There was a short in the switch that was used to turn off the power to the pump. It was replaced and everything is back to working again.

Pump Won't Turn Back On After Cleaning Cartridge Filters

Well I gave it the night to possibly dry out, and it is still not working. I guess it's time to call and electrician and hope they can get out before next week.

Pump Won't Turn Back On After Cleaning Cartridge Filters

Yeah thanks, I was going to add a bit more than normal in the morning and give it a good brushing. I jokingly told. My wife I was going to have to add a bunch of chlorine to the water and get in and slosh around to mix it up... She looked at me like I was crazy. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A...

Pump Won't Turn Back On After Cleaning Cartridge Filters

I'm giving it the night or so to possibly dry out. Luckily, it's still pretty hot at night in Texas so that may work. If not, I'll try and find an electrician sometime tomorrow morning.

Pump Won't Turn Back On After Cleaning Cartridge Filters

If a GFCI is bad will the small light on it still come on when you test the outlet? It does, and was on when I first went to turn the pump back on. So it tripped at some point. Edit: Yeah, I was checking the right breaker. None were tripped though.

I should also mention, that along with the pool lights the outlet, that is connected to the pump electrical box, is not working. We also checked all GFCI outlets in the house.

I did that, but it wasn't tripped. I went ahead and reset it as well, but still didn't work.

Pump Won't Turn Back On After Cleaning Cartridge Filters

We moved into our house last year, and this was my first time cleaning the filters. Once I reassembled everything, the pump motor wouldn't turn on. I tried resetting the GFCI plug, breakers, and nothing seems to be working. The pump is running on a 220v breaker, the lights (they're on a separate...

    R-0012 drop size

I was having the same issue with the R-0012 for CH test as well. I started wiping it off with a damp paper towel after every drop and it hasn't been much of a problem the past couple of weeks. The drops are noticeably bigger than before, and my tests since have been more consistent.

First Full Summer in New House w/ Pool

Yeah, I was using the FAS-DPD tests for my weekly tests, I didn't know if that is what most people used daily as well. I guess I should have bought the XL version of the test kit.

For those of y'all that keep your CYA at a higher level, like around 60-70, what daily test do you use for chlorine? Asking because the small chlorine/pH test Taylor test kit that comes with the TF-100 only tests up to 5 ppm.

First Full Summer in New House w/ Pool

I do that by lowering the pH? I already went ahead and added more chlorine to bring my FC up. I'm guessing I should wait a couple of hours before adding acid to lower the pH, right?

First Full Summer in New House w/ Pool

Update: I finished draining and refilling last night. I checked the pH after I was done and it was still a bit high around 7.8. So I added some muriatic acid. I tried to guesstimate how much I needed by using pool math, I don't think I added quite enough but it did bring it down a bit. Ran a...

First Full Summer in New House w/ Pool

The water level is slightly above the return jets, there's not any damage that I can do to them if the water is drained below the returns, is there? I have the pump only pulling from main drains, not skimmers BTW. Also, there is one return nozzle that is pointed so far to the side that...

First Full Summer in New House w/ Pool

Thanks for the replies. I started draining more water this morning. I'm guessing that it will take me the entire day and a good portion of the night to drain around 30% of the water. I'm using a water hose connected to the spigot on the pump, so it's a pretty slow process. Here are a couple of...
