Just an update. Cc was user error as it tested at barely .5 a few hours later. No more stuff in the pool in the mornings! Pool looks amazing, swg working perfectly, still waiting on levels to drift down so I can figure out what output to run the swg at. Currently run the pump 4 hours per day...

The first day of shock my CC was only .5 I think Ill check again when I check FC around noon. Make sure its not user error

Thanks so much. We went to clean our sand filter a month or so ago and realized the way it was set up we would need to cut and replace the PVC, and we just haven't had time/been able to. We just tested at 10.5, so we went swimming a little and then brought it up to 18 for Mustard shock...

Okay, just went out and the pool really is crystal clear, except the algae my husband vacuumed this morning I guess settled again? Could it just grow that fast? There is a lot of it. Can we swim safely today with our two small kids at shock level?

Yes. Yesterday evening we let it run for an hour or so to make sure it would stay generating (SWG). After running it we test FC at 12 (it tested at 5 the day before so we know the SWG was working). We added a gallon to bring it to 16, and turned off the SWG for the night, left everything else...

Okay, salt system is working YES. Called Hayward and re calibrated. We started shocking last night, this morning we had lost no chlorine, CC was .05 my husband said the water was clear. But there was a lot of algae. It turned to dust when we vaccumed it to waste. I added 30 lbs of salt...
