    Chlorinator overflowing when refilling tabs

I tried to turn that one to the right and could only go straight across to the open pipe. I don’t know about the mineral cartridges-if we have those, that’s something the pool company has dealt with. We just had this equipment installed this year so I’m still learning it all

    Chlorinator overflowing when refilling tabs

I don’t have the same problem when the pool is open. I posted another reply with a pic. I can’t get any valves to turn so I thought that was a setting the pool company did when they closed the pool but I’m not sure. This is our first winter with new equipment

    Chlorinator overflowing when refilling tabs

Sorry, didn’t think to add a pic. The valve right next to the Chlorinator won’t turn-I assume the pool company has it set that way for some reason but that’s the only one I could think of that might affect it

    Chlorinator overflowing when refilling tabs

Our pool is closed for the winter, but we still have a spa open that we use. When I open the chlorinator to refill it, the water constantly overflows and makes it difficult to get the lid back on and sealed at the end of the process. I make sure my pump is turned off, but I can’t locate a valve...

    Pine cone stuck in skimmer

I do have skimmer baskets. I’m guessing this happened when I had taken them out to clean out the debris.

    Pine cone stuck in skimmer

I noticed recently that one of my skimmers wasn’t collecting much debris and seems to have very little suction in it. I reached down into the pipe and can feel a pine cone stuck a few inches in. Is there any way to get it out? Can I reverse the water flow into the skimmer to try to blow it out...

    Algae/CYA level

Ahhh, ok maybe that's been my problem then. I will go in search of liquid chlorine again. I don't think I fully understood what I was looking for or where to look but I'm close to Menards so I'll see what I can find. Thanks for your help!

    Algae/CYA level

CH is 500. Can you help me understand the difference in liquid chlorine vs bleach? Are they the same?

    Algae/CYA level

I can't find liquid chlorine in my area. Will the granular work or am I wasting chemicals?

    Algae/CYA level

This is my first year maintaining my own pool but have always had trouble keeping algae under control. Our pool is old and probably doesn't have the best circulation and also has a leak somewhere that we aren't planning to invest in fixing this season due to the need for a replaster after this...
