New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

My 604 from marina comes today, hopefully this one lasts longer than my pentair SI I bought from them Question…. Who leaves theirs in the pool? This is what I did and eventually some moisture got in, but here in AZ it gets stupid hot in the summer and I am worried it may dry out even in the shade

    Are robots worth it?

Yes leaving in the pool is no good, eventually moisture gets in there no matter how well it's sealed Mine has lived in the pool for nearly 4 years and it's done. Plus I had it set to run every day or two ... another mistake. In Arizona we get a lot of fine dust. I have popups but i need to...

    Are robots worth it?

Bought a pentair SI from Marina in 2021, it's already dead! Watched all the videos took it all apart twice and still not working I think the board is fried as there was some moisture inside the motor box. Not much but the absorbing pad in there was wet. Anyways the cord is worn out and the...

    No chlorine generated

I agree, tabs do work well in the Phoenix area but you have to change your water every year.. and practically every year just because how hard the water is

Salt level… Taylor kit vs RJ45 display

Exactly mine has an auto fill, so I’m going to drain about 1/3 of the water maybe more after I test my CH.

Salt level… Taylor kit vs RJ45 display

I think I’m just going to scrap the Taylor kit and just use what the unit says, mainly because that’s what matters anyways

Salt level… Taylor kit vs RJ45 display

Yeah my RJ45 is way oversized for my 12,500 gal pool. Even in the peak of summer it only runs at 25-30 %, right now 15% and in the winter 5% and or winter mode

Salt level… Taylor kit vs RJ45 display

Last time I checked it it was getting close to 400 but now it’s probably higher, it’s my fault for adding one bag recently because I wanted to run it closer to 3500 but I guess it’s creeping higher. I will do a partial drain and refill

Salt level… Taylor kit vs RJ45 display

I guess I will have to do a partial drain, apparently muriatic acid has quite a bit of salt in it and it adds up over time

Salt level… Taylor kit vs RJ45 display

My high salt light is flashing, unit says 4400 PPM of salt and my Taylor kit says 3800. Is there a way to calibrate these? It’s still producing chlorine but I may need to dilute

    SWG and Cold Water

I used to live in OC and my pool would get down in the 50s , didn’t have a SWG then but here in arizona the pools get cold as well. I think the super chlorinate mode will still produce chlorine when the water is too cold, so you can always do that every couple weeks

    SWG and Cold Water

Yeah but it adds calcium too

    Combined chlorine keeps returning

Can you post all your numbers and pool temp? You should go Saltwater generator it’s the best way
