Is this algae? Rust? Alien life?

Brilliant idea. I checked with a regular magnet, and it didn’t grab hold. I’ll pick up some rare earth magnets and check with those too.

Is this algae? Rust? Alien life?

We have a spot that continually is growing on our wall. Daily, this blob shows up, we brush it off and it’s brown underneath it, and by the next day, the blob is back. My gut says it’s rust, but I’m hoping one of y’all will tell me it’s something different.

Thanks for this! I finally got the others in but haven’t installed them yet. I might use one of these instead.

    Water in J-Box

I’m still waiting on the Jandy check valves for the blower. I should probably cancel the order and get them from another source at this point. In the meantime I removed the blower and capped off the line and my electrician came out and re-wired where the damage was and he put a GFCI breaker at...

Do Auto-filler Float Valves have Backflow Preventers?

I shot some videos this morning to help explain everything. We aren't working with copper on this and I'm pretty handy. Here's the pool from the top showing where the auto-filler float valve (toilet type) is and the locations of the photos I took yesterday: Here are more details from below...

Do Auto-filler Float Valves have Backflow Preventers?

Yes the collection tank is also potable water. It's used for everything in the house. This is currently how it's connected. That hose bib comes from the rainwater tank. We want to change the water source to the water supplied by the meter and come off of the main line/pipe from the sprinkler.

Do Auto-filler Float Valves have Backflow Preventers?

Our house has a rainwater collection system that supplies all the water to the house. We use municipal water for the sprinkler system, but currently it's on the house's rain water. To do this we need to cut one of the pipes that currently supplies the water to the pool for the auto-filler. We...

In Floor Cleaning System - How Should it Work?

Thank you so much! I adjusted the pump to lower the cleaner speed just a little more and everything is working beautifully. I’m so grateful y’all were able to help me with this. Yes, our view is of Lake Travis! We’re on the south side of the lake just outside of Lakeway. It’s a really...

In Floor Cleaning System - How Should it Work?

It goes into the pump baskets I think. I don't have any other debris baskets.

In Floor Cleaning System - How Should it Work?

Thanks for the additional info on the IFCS. I was thinking that the valve controlled the water to the system, not that it was suction but now that you've pointed it out, it makes sense. I'll check the pipes i the back. Interestingly though, now that everything is working property with the...
