New VA owner-builder IG plaster pool in a NON plaster region:)

I don't have any advice on the chemicals, still learning myself but we swam in ours as it was filling. Beautiful pool and backyard, love it.

    New build - Buffalo NY

Already heated, it was 72 when I left for work this morning, should be high 70s now(getting a rare 86 degree day in upstate ny in april) and just got a text that my wife is taking the kids/nephew in :D

Opened myself to a nice clean pool. Took more bleach and muriatic acid than I was expecting to get the chlorine and pH where I wanted them but finally got there. Looking forward to first full season of swimming.

Brand NEW Plaster has CRACKS, need opinions on if it's a concern or not-

My plaster had cracks as well, they plastered friday, I filled over the weekend, they drained monday and fixed the cracks and then I filled it back up again Monday/Tuesday.

Stood on the sunshelf and my feet went numb so I didn't jump in. Running the robot one last time so it's nice and clean for closing tomorrow.

    New build - Buffalo NY

I was able to get a $400 credit from the builder for installing the wrong heat pump. Pool closing is tomorrow, water temp is at 50, might take a quick dip tonight one last time.

I have a return just for that purpose but it's not really the dirt on the sunshelf(although that happens) it's the floating stuff. The nice thing is the rest of the pool is spotless because all the surface stuff is in one spot. If I aim the return to push away the surface stuff it settles on...

BTU depends on the outside temperature, the 110 i have maxes out at 108k btu(the 120 which i had spec'd maxes out at 127k btu) Got a fence installed and grass is growing. Bought a dolphin nautilus plus robot and have been very happy with it's performance, it even climbs up on the sun shelf...

    New build - Buffalo NY

It's a pentair ultratemp 110. Weather started out in mid 50's and topped out at 75ish. I guess it's not terrible, I forgot to check it this morning but I should hear about it soon if it's not at least 80 as the kids have a half day of school and everyone is going swimming.

Tested the heat pump today, turned it on at 7am with a pool temp of 65, as of 530pm it's at 73. It's been a pretty nice day for october in buffalo so i'm a bit disappointed in the 8 degrees in 10.5 hours.

    New build - Buffalo NY

Haven tested TA in a few days, it was at 100 last I checked. I did get the ph down to 7.2 today. Also borrowed my neighbors robot......and now I'll be getting a robot.

I've got the chlorine in check but this ph is really fighting me, I can't believe how much MA it takes to knock it down and then the next day it spikes back up again.

raised water feature on new build...tile or stone?

Here's my build thread New build - Buffalo NY I'm not sure what page it's on but we went with waterline tile over the face of the waterfall. The deep end swimout has 2x2 blue tile up against 1x1 tile so you can see how that looks as well.
